Ishasha Wilderness Camp is an authentic safari camp located on the banks of the Ntungwe River in the southern part of Uganda's Queen Elizabeth National Park. It's an ideal base for safaris in Uganda, as well as for solo travelers seeking wild, tranquil locations and a close connection with nature. The camp consists of ten spacious tents with private bathrooms overlooking the river, comfortable beds with mosquito nets, warm bush showers, and eco-friendly toilets. A communal dining area and lounge under a thatched roof create a true safari experience.
The area is renowned for its unique fauna – it's home to tree-climbing lions, which can often be seen resting in the branches of banyan trees. Elephants, buffalo, Uganda kob, topi, hippos, and numerous bird species are also found here, making the Ishasha region one of the most interesting safari destinations in Uganda.
Ishasha Wilderness Camp is a 7- to 8-hour drive from Kampala or Entebbe, traversing the scenic regions of western Uganda. Alternatively, take a domestic flight to Kihihi or Kasese and continue by car, significantly reducing the time it takes to travel independently in Uganda.
