Time + Tide Kakuli is an intimate safari lodge located in South Luangwa National Park in eastern Zambia. This location allows wildlife to be seen almost all day long, including directly from the lodge's terraces and communal areas.

Time + Tide Kakuli is a good option for a holiday in Africa with children

The lodge operates seasonally and is open during two periods of the year. The first is during the green season, typically from mid-January to early April, when the landscape is lush and safaris have a more peaceful, intimate feel. The second season covers the dry season, typically from around May 20th to early November, considered the best time for a classic safari in Zambia. The lodge remains closed during the remaining months.

Time + Tide Kakuli offers five high-standard safari tents. Four are designed for couples, and one is a two-bedroom family tent, making the lodge a good choice for safaris with children. All tents have private bathrooms, bright interiors, and verandas overlooking the river. The intimate atmosphere, lack of crowds, and a high level of privacy make Kakuli also a great place for honeymoon in Africa or a romantic safari for two.

The hotel's location ensures a successful safari trip during your honeymoon or trip with children.

The area surrounding the lodge is one of the richest natural areas of South Luangwa National Park. Elephants, buffalo, hippos, and crocodiles in the Luangwa River are regularly spotted here, along with lions and leopards. The region is also renowned for its abundance of birds and a variety of antelope. Game drives are available both by off-road vehicle and on foot, and during the game season, boat safaris are also available, providing a fun and engaging addition to your stay.

Access to Time + Tide Kakuli is via Mfuwe Airport. Guests must first fly to Lusaka and then catch a domestic flight to Mfuwe. From the airport, guests are transported by 4x4 through the park to the lodge, a transfer time of approximately two to two and a half hours. The drive itself often represents the first safari, as the route passes through areas rich in wildlife.

Time + Tide Kakuli is a great option for those looking for an authentic trip to Zambia, whether for a honeymoon or a leisurely safari with children, in one of Africa's most interesting and picturesque parks.
