While staying at this charming temple-like property surrounded by green rice fields and the Menoreh Hills, guests have the opportunity to visit the UNESCO-protected Borobudur Temple as well as the vibrant city of Yogyakarta. Borobudur is one of the best-preserved monuments in the world, boasting stupas and 6 platforms decorated with 2672 panels with bas-reliefs and 504 life-size Buddha statues. To reach it, you only need a 25-minute walk from the hotel.

The area also has the temples of Pawon - a real gem of Javanese architecture, and Mendut - built around 800 AD. The volcanic terrain and Mount Merapi are perfect for trekking for both advanced and beginners. In Yogyakarta, guests will see the magnificent Sultan's Palace. 2 hours away A drive away from the hotel is the town of Solo, a cultural center where you can experience local music, art, dances and crafts. During trips around the area, guests have the opportunity to see traditional celebrations, when many people play an instrument called gamelan and perform regional dances.

The decor of the hotel suites refers to the style of the Borobudur Buddhist sanctuary, the windows offer a view of the Menoreh Hills, the valley or Borobudur. Some suites have private pools. The restaurant overlooks the rice fields and offers Javanese and Indonesian specialties prepared with ingredients from nearby farms. The spa offers treatments based on centuries-old Javanese healing and beauty rituals. For example, Mandi Lulur is a treatment that tones and cleanses the body. It combines massage, exfoliation and a warm herbal bath.

One of its most popular routes is between Jakarta and Amanjiwo.
