Trip plan:
Start of the journey on a luxury train British Explorer from London Victoria. A journey through Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire during which you can enjoy a Cumbrian tea, relax in the wellness area or have a cocktail in the bar. In the evening, a dinner prepared by a Michelin-starred chef, followed by dancing in the observation car.
Morning drive through the beautiful countryside of the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales, then along the Cumbrian coast overlooking the Irish Sea. Afternoon visit to Lingholm Estate on Derwentwater for water sports including kayaking, paddleboarding, alpacas and garden games. Return to the train in Penrith for dinner and onward travel.
The journey takes us through the breathtaking scenery of the Peak District towards Oxfordshire and Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons. In the evening, a gala dinner at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons (2★ Michelin). Then back to the train for another night.
In the morning, arrival at London Victoria Station and free time for a walk or a visit to The Cadogan Hotel. In the afternoon, departure again - this time towards Wales. On board, Welsh tea with regional delicacies is served. In the evening, time to relax in the wellness area, social games or gin at the bar.
Guided tour of the Welsh valleys, visit to Farmers' Welsh Lavender - sauna, swimming in the pond, relaxation by the fireplace. Drive along the scenic route to Eryri National Park. In the evening, British-style dinner - with local produce and live music. Overnight stay near the seaside town of Barmouth.
Brunch and visit to Machynlleth including the Museum of Modern Art. Drive through Shropshire to Moreton-in-Marsh. Dinner on board followed by a reception in a traditional Cotswolds village pub, The Fox, with local food and drink.
Breakfast overlooking the picturesque Oxfordshire and Chilterns. Return to London Victoria early in the morning.
