Xigera Safari Lodge

There are few camps and hotels located in such unusual places as Xigera Safari Lodge. It is located practically in the heart of the Okavango River Delta and stretches over two small islands right on the border of one of the most famous reserves in Botswana, the Moremi Reserve. During a luxurious holiday at the Xigera Hotel in Botswana, guests are accommodated in spacious suites. Each one has a different design, furniture and decorations in African style. Guests can expect, among others: free-standing bathtubs and king-size beds, but all of them have windows facing the vast pools. These can also be admired from large terraces.

Xigera was created to be environmentally friendly. It obtains electricity from solar energy. He also cooperates with a foundation that preserves the unique character of the Okavango Delta ecosystem. The unique location makes Xigera Safari Lodge truly a gateway to river trips and cruises, such as the traditional African mokoro. You can observe dangerous hippos and crocodiles from a safe distance. Those who love watching interesting bird species will be able to see many of the 500 varieties inhabiting the region. Maybe you will be able to see a copper-tailed coucal, a greater silverfish, a white-striped gadfly or a lesser longclaw? The area is also inhabited by an inconspicuous piebald fisher, from which the Xigera hotel borrows its name!

However, location is not everything. Guests benefit from the services of a dedicated guide who helps track down lions and leopards. As you explore the plains around the delta, you can spot cheetahs, hyenas, wild buffalos, buffalos, and other game. However, the real star is the elephant. 130 thousand to be precise. elephants freely roaming the savannah. The bush never sleeps. You can, of course, explore it on night safari tours. But you can also listen to the sounds of the surroundings, look at the starry sky, and at the same time break away from civilization in a house built on a baobab, the most famous African tree.
