Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge

Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge is located on the Savute Channel in Chobe National Park in northern Botswana. This park is famous for one of the largest elephant populations in Africa, numbering approximately 120 of these giants. The entire life of elephants, as well as numerous herds of buffaloes, is concentrated near the water, which is why the best way to discover the park is by boat. During the safari, you can also see common predators such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and wild dogs. The Savute region is also an ideal place for ornithology enthusiasts, as it is home to over 400 species of birds, including: shoebills, storks, kingfishers, African longclaw and cormorants.

Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge is the most exclusive lodge that is the epitome of the highest quality and most interesting safari in Botswana. An additional advantage is the fact that it was completely renovated in 2019. All 12 luxurious air-conditioned tents were built on wooden platforms, ensuring the highest standard. The rich interiors are filled with handmade furniture and accessories in Earth colors, and the decor is inspired by the history of African explorers. The spacious living room has a comfortable sofa and armchairs, as well as a minibar (included in the price of the stay), which is replenished every day with selected world spirits and wines. Guests enjoy using this place for afternoon tea or a private dinner, and the panoramic terrace provides a spectacular view of the reservoir, so eagerly visited by elephants, leopards and hyenas. The chef will prepare delicious dishes according to dietary requirements, which must be informed before travel. We encourage you to take afternoon excursions with a picnic basket filled with delicacies and drinks, or relax with a drink in hand by the pool located next to the lobby.

During morning and afternoon safari trips by 4×4 car or boat, you will be able to observe huge herds of elephants, lions, wild dogs, leopards and hyenas almost at your fingertips. Moreover, it is worth seeing the impressive baobab grove. An interesting fact is that these areas were inhabited 1 years ago, and the proof is the ancient rock paintings of the Bushmen. The evening is a time for a feast organized in a traditional African boma - a dinner by the fire, accompanied by local dances and songs. Cloudless nights are dream moments for astronomy enthusiasts - the modern telescope located in the lodge allows you to see the most distant constellations.
