Zarafa Camp

Zarafa Camp is one of the most luxurious and unique lodges and camps in Botswana. Zarafa means "beloved" - the name commemorates the first giraffe that traveled from Africa to Europe as a gift to Charles X. The name obliges and, in fact, it is an excellent choice for couples planning an exclusive trip to Botswana combined with a safari, e.g. .

The luxurious camp is located in the private Selinda reserve with an area of 130. ha. This is a unique place where the Okavango Delta meets the Liyanti River. From here there is a breathtaking view of the Zibadianja lagoon, from which the water flows further through the Savuti Canal. This place is inhabited by, among others, leopards, lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes and marsh kobs. You can also easily spot species that are less common in the region, including spotted lions and horse antelopes. Ornithology enthusiasts can observe colonies of razorbills hunting in the lagoon in action.

The area can be explored on tailor-made safaris, which take place at different times of the day and night, so that you can experience the everyday life of the local ecosystem. Guests will discover the beauty of the lagoon during cruises tailored to their expectations. A unique Life With Elephants Tour is also organized, during which guests visit the town of Eretsha. It is an opportunity to learn about the local culture and see how the people of Botswana coexist with wildlife on a daily basis.

After an eventful day, guests can relax on the wooden terrace located right next to Lake Zibandianja, from which there is a memorable view of the surrounding landscape bathed in the light of the setting sun. There is no better place to share your experiences than sipping your favorite drink in the evening while watching herds of hippos, crocodiles and elephants.

The interiors of the tents dazzle with a colonial style and handmade elements. The luxurious Zarafa Camp lodge cares about the local ecosystem, which is why the infrastructure is made of recycled wood and canvas. This is the first tourist facility of the Great Plains Conservation network, where tents are equipped with aesthetic copper bathtubs.
