Botswana – a natural choice

We invite guests to the Dark Continent to Botswana, on an extremely exclusive safari to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and to the Moremi Game Reserve and Khwai Private Reserve game reserves. Under the care of experienced trackers, travelers will experience amazing encounters with the largest inhabitants of Africa - elephants, buffalos, zebras and even white rhinos, as well as predators - lions, cheetahs and hyenas. After the observations, they will return to their luxurious camps to listen to the sounds of the savannah under an inky black sky sparkling with countless stars.

Trip plan:

1

Upon arrival at Maun airport, a representative of our office will meet the guests. After being greeted, they will be transported by car to Meno a Kwena Camp.

1 - 3

Guests will spend the next 2 nights in the exclusive Meno a Kwena camp, in a tent equipped with rustic bathrooms with showers. The stay includes full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner), local branded drinks, daily activities at the camp, concession and community fees, laundry and scheduled car transport between the camp and Maun Airport (departures from the airport at 14.00 p.m., from the camp at 10.00 a.m.).

The luxurious Meno a Kwena camp lies on the banks of the Boteti River, which forms the western boundary of Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. It offers guests the best safari experience in the Makgadikgadi Pans, Nxai Pans and the Kalahari Desert at affordable prices. Guests have the chance, and with great confidence, to encounter one of the rarest and critically endangered animals today - the white rhino! For other participants, the biggest draw of Meno a Kwena will be the camp itself, especially during the dry winter months when hundreds and thousands of zebras, elephants and plenty of other wildlife flock to what are arguably the best watering holes in South Africa. These waterholes can be observed directly from the camp. Meno a Kwena is a zone where you can relax, rest and enjoy peace - away from the hustle and bustle - making it a great place for a real holiday!

Meno a Kwena is a traditional, classic camp offering unforgettable views of the Boteti River, Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and stunning waterholes. Activities include 1-day trips to Makgadikgadi Pans and Nxai Pans, white rhino search and observation, salt pool adventure with falling asleep under the stars, guided walks, swimming pool, ethnographic activities in the nearby village of Moreomaoto. There are 8 fully serviced Meru tents with semi-enclosed bathrooms, bucket showers and toilets. Guests can enjoy the views from the tent and listen to the sounds of wildlife calling them to return to Africa.

3

Guests will leave the Meno a Kwena camp and go to the airport in Maun - the journey takes approximately 1,5 hours. Upon arrival at the airport, participants will meet their light chartered aircraft pilot who will transport them to the airstrip at Sable Alley.

3 - 5

Guests will spend 2 nights at the luxurious Hyena Pan Tented Camp in a standard en-suite tent, with full board accommodation including breakfast, lunch and dinner, local drinks, daily game viewing and laundry service, as well as return transportation to Sable Alley and transfers between camp Hyena Pan, Sable Alley and night observation platforms (Skybeds), depending on your itinerary.

Hyena Pan is a tented camp within a private, protected area on the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp was built around a year-round watering hole north of the Moremi Game Reserve gate. This is one of the few watering holes in this area, where elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals come all year round. The surrounding beautiful mopane thickets are rich in birds. The camp is rustic yet comfortable, its charming simplicity making it the perfect place for wildlife encounters. The permanent tents offer spacious, comfortable rooms with twin beds, en-suite bathrooms and hot showers. The tents are also equipped with bedside tables, solar lighting, a wardrobe and a table and chairs so that guests can relax and admire the views. All doors and windows are secured with mosquito nets to prevent unwanted insects from entering the interior. Trips to observe wild animals in the Moremi Game Reserve take place in specially built, 1-seater Toyota Land Cruiser off-road vehicles with 2-wheel drive. Professional, competent guides will show guests little-known corners of the reserve and protected areas outside the parks. These safaris are full-day trips for which our staff prepares a packed lunch for the whole day. After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, participants return to camp in the late afternoon to admire the magnificent sunset while enjoying a hot meal by the fire in this unspoilt corner of wild Africa.

5

Transfer by car to the exclusive Sable Alley camp.

5 - 7

Guests will spend the next 2 nights in a luxurious tent at the Sable Alley camp. Here, the tents are also equipped with bathrooms, and the offer includes full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner), local drinks, laundry and entrance fees to the park, and above all, wildlife observation.

Sable Alley offers guests views of the lagoon, which is connected to the Khwai and Sable Alley Rivers, and is a stone's throw from the world-famous Moremi Game Reserve. This great location means that wildlife literally peeks into the camp. From the swimming pool, lounge, outdoor seating area and all tents there is an unobstructed view of the inhabitants of the lagoon - a herd of hippos, numbering about 30, and large herds of wild animals on the surrounding plains: elephants and buffalos, which come here to have a drink - it's a great way to spend an afternoon!

When guests are ready to explore further, Sable Alley guides are on hand to explain the sights, smells and sounds of the bush. The vast, 440-acre Khwai Private Reserve contains some of the most fantastically diverse habitats in northern Botswana, including riverine forests, open floodplains, rivers and so-called mopane forests. This diversity of habitats translates into a wealth of wild animal species. There are lions, leopards, wild dogs, elephants, buffaloes and, of course, the Sable Antelope, which gives this place its name. Wildlife observation takes place not only from traditional safari vehicles (both during the day and at night). At Sable Alley, guests can also experience a mokoro safari, where they are gently pulled along the river in a traditional canoe. This is a great way to watch birds and see wildlife. Boating is the main attraction during the high season when water levels are high.

Our guests' home in the bush is comfortable, spacious and stylish tents. Each of the 12 is built on a raised platform, offering an unobstructed view of the lagoon. The tents are equipped with bathrooms, private verandas and indoor and outdoor showers where guests can wash off the dust after an interesting day. Two complexes of connected tents are comfortable apartments for families.

Guests end their day of adventures with a nighttime wildlife spotting experience, where they have the opportunity to spot nocturnal creatures such as a leopard, a porcupine, and the fearless honey-eating ratel.
