Saruni Samburu

Travelers are invited on an exclusive journey to the heart of the Kalama Nature Reserve, which is located on the elephant migration route. Eco-friendly, luxurious villas built on volcanic rocks are equipped with outdoor showers, verandas and spacious dining rooms (it is possible to order meals delivered to the villa). The trip to Kalama is, above all, an opportunity to meet the semi-nomadic Samburu tribe, which is still strongly attached to its traditions. Breakfasts are served by the Ewaso Nyiro River, and lunches are often served by torchlight under a starry African sky accompanied by dancers from the previously mentioned tribe. Dishes inspired by Italian cuisine and based only on fresh, local products are served. During your stay, it is worth going on a trip to Mount Ololokwe, which is considered sacred by the Samburu people. The guides are the tribe's warriors who are happy to share their knowledge. The facility works closely with the natives who care about nature conservation and support initiatives aimed at preserving its original character. It is also worth visiting caves with paintings, as well as the village of Kiltimany, where you can see the everyday life of its inhabitants.

The resort is also ready to organize a helicopter tour from Mount Kenya to Lake Turkana. During their stay at this luxurious facility, guests have a unique opportunity to tour the Kalama Nature Reserve and the Samburu Reserve on an exclusive safari. The first of them also organizes trips at night, which allows you to observe animal species living after dark. This camp is a great place for photographers as it has a ground level photo hideout located near a watering hole. This is an ideal point to capture photos of the "Samburu Five": the reticulated giraffe, the Beis oryx, the gerenuk antelope, the gray-skinned ostrich and the striped zebra. The guides are also trained bird watchers and will be happy to share their knowledge and skills in this field. Both adults and younger travelers will have the opportunity to acquire skills useful for living in the bush and learn the secrets of animal tracking. After a day full of adventures, guests will be welcomed by the Samburu Wellbeing Space, where a variety of massages and treatments are available.
