Serra Cafema

Serra Cafema is one of the best hotels in Namibia, which impresses with its location on the famous Skeleton Coast - a place referred to by Portuguese sailors as "the gateway to hell" due to its numerous shallows and unpredictable sea currents. It is an excellent choice for a holiday in Namibia, during which guests will discover the nature of the Marienfluss protected area and the Kaokoland region. High quality of service and unforgettable experiences allowed the facility to be recognized by Travel+Leisure magazine during the World's Best Awards in 2021.

The Serra Cafema camp itself is located on the bank of the Kunene River in the shade of lush trees, in a place where on one side you can hear the sound of flowing water and on the other you can experience the silence of the desert. All houses were built on platforms. They are made of wood and canvas and have thatched roofs. Although the hotel is an excellent choice primarily for a holiday for two in Namibia, it also offers accommodation for families with children.

However, what attracts adventure-seeking travelers is the wild and harsh landscape of the Namib, the oldest desert in the world. In the vast, yellow-brown areas you can meet the Himba community - a semi-nomadic tribe that eagerly meets to talk about their life and history.

Serra Cafema is located right next to the region's most important river, the Kunene. If the water level is right, you can take a boat trip and spot countless Nile crocodiles. Another option is a hiking or driving trip to the dunes, where you can observe oryxes, springbok antelopes, Hartmann's mountain zebras and desert chameleons. The lunar landscape is also conducive to quad rides along designated routes.
