Kruger Park - the founder's extraordinary panache

The Kruger National Park was established in 1898 and stretches over 2 million hectares in South Africa. One of the main reasons for its establishment by President Paul Kruger was the desire to protect nature, which was quickly being destroyed due to the fault of hunters - hunting for horns, animal skins or ivory was extremely popular in this part of Africa at that time. Since the end of World War I, the park has been under the protection of the South African government, and trips are organized only to admire and commune with the beauty of fauna and flora.

The Big Five of Africa only in the Kruger Park

During a trip to the Kruger National Park, you can see each of the animals belonging to the famous Big Five of Africa, i.e. elephant, lion, African buffalo, black rhinoceros and spotted leopard. It is the only place of its kind on the entire continent. Kruger Park is located in a rather hot region of South Africa - in the warmest months (for example, January) the temperature here can reach nearly 50 degrees Celsius. For this reason, the best time for a holiday in this part of the world is the beginning or end of the dry season, i.e. the time between April and September, when the temperature is more pleasant - it is only twenty-odd degrees.
