Vineyards, the Big Five and Victoria Falls

From the Cape of Good Hope and Table Mountain to Victoria Falls, this two-week luxury expedition showcases the diversity of southern Africa's nature and culture. In South Africa, guests will visit Cape Town and the surrounding vineyards, as well as Johannesburg. They will go on safari to the Kruger Park, and then in Zambia to the Zambezi National Park in Zambia and Chobe National Park in Botswana - where they will encounter the largest herds of elephants in Africa.

Trip plan:

1 Cape Town – Franschhoek

2 Franschhoek

A full-day trip to selected vineyards, with wine tasting and Cap Classiques (the so-called South African champagne). The trip also includes visiting the towns: Stellenbosch, one of the oldest in South Africa, Simonsberg, Paarl and Franschhoek. Picturesquely situated among vineyards, they are an ideal place to learn about the turbulent 17th and 18th century history of Africa. Lunch at one of the fantastic restaurants. After lunch, continue sightseeing and shopping - there are many art galleries in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.

3 Cape Town

It will start with a tour of the most beautiful districts of Cape Town: Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton, Bakoven, Llandudno, and then the fishing village of Hout Bay. On the coast, guests will see the largest seal colony. They will then drive along Chapman's Peak Drive, one of the most impressive roads in Africa. From June to November it is possible to watch whales. The Cape of Good Hope will provide many attractions. Guests will see a wonderful rocky coast, unique vegetation, unusual animals - many endemic species, i.e. those found only in South Africa (an example is the oystercatcher - a black bird with a bright red beak, and the mountain zebra found only in southern Africa). After entering the famous Cape Point Lighthouse, guests will be treated to a magical view of False Bay. After lunch at a seaside restaurant, visit to Boulders Beach, home to a colony of African penguins. Then, in Simon's Town, guests will see the headquarters of the South African Navy, and in the busy port of Kalk Bay, fishing boats come to the shore. Another suggestion is a trip to the Castle of Good Hope - the oldest building in South Africa, with a fantastic collection of paintings. Later, guests will travel to Robben Island, located in Table Bay, off the coast of the African continent, approximately 11 km north of Cape Town. During the colonization of South Africa by Europeans, prisoners, sick people and beggars were sent to this island. During World War II, there was a military base there, and in 1960, a prison was established, which is the toughest penal colony in the country. Nelson Mandela once served a life sentence there. Today it is a monument and an active museum. Guests will be guided by Thulani Mabaso, a former prisoner, making the tour even more exciting.
