Along the way, they have the opportunity to get to know the nature, history and culture of South Africa up close. Among other things, they will visit the Kariega Game Reserve and many other unusual places. On the way to Cape Town, guests will stay in sophisticated, luxurious and exclusive hotels and camps - selected to fully experience every moment of this extraordinary journey.

Trip plan:

1 Port Elizabeth – Kariega Game Reserve

Upon arrival in Port Elizabeth, guests will be greeted by our pilot and then taken to the Kariega Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape.

1 - 4 Settlers Drift in Kariega Game Reserve

Guests will spend the next three nights at the exclusive Kariega Settlers Drift camp. The stay includes full board, selected local drinks and daily activities - 2 Land Rover safaris or river cruises each day.

The Kariega Reserve is located in the Frontier Country, the historic heart of the Eastern Cape. This landlocked area embodies the spirit of the many cultures that now form part of Southern Africa's Rainbow of Nations, including the 1820 settlers, Khoi, Xhosa and Boer. The Eastern Cape is also the birthplace of many notable South Africans, including Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki.

Located in a secluded, untouched part of the Kariega region, Settlers Drift Camp offers a unique tented safari combined with 5-star luxury. The camp consists of 9 spacious tented apartments, each of which offers beautiful views and quiet terraces. Looking down from the terraces overlooking the Bushman River, visitors may feel as if time has stood still, as the last feet to walk this wild valley were those of settlers in 1820 as they guided their wagons across the river.

4 Port Elizabeth – Plattenberg Bay

After breakfast, guests will be transferred to Port Elizabeth Airport. This is where they will pick up their rental cars and begin their self-guided tour. From Port Elizabeth they will head to Plettenberg Bay. Along the way you can visit Tsitsikamma Coastal National Park, the village of Storms River or go for a treetop walk.

5-6 Tsala Treetop Lodge

Guests will spend the next 2 nights at Tsala Treetop Lodge. The offer includes breakfast.

Nestled among the tops of an ancient, ancient forest, Tsala Treetop Lodge is an extravagant celebration of the African spirit. Like the monumental ruins of an ancient Central African civilization, the imposing Tsala stone entrance, surrounded by water features, leads to a magnificent foyer supported by ebony columns. Sophisticated, natural colors combine rich details and hand-made furnishings in a baroque style. The interior is inspired by the diverse cultures of Africa, harmoniously combined with the sophistication of the Western world. The views are unforgettable, whether in the exotic dining room, in the intimate glass living room, or on large open terraces, raised high above the ground.

5 Tsala Treetop Lodge

Time for sightseeing, according to your choice and preferences: all day at Monkeyland, Birds of Eden or Tenika Wildcat Awareness. You can also go looking for cheetahs at sunset.

6 Tsala Treetop Lodge – Oudtshoorn

The beautiful rose garden, which gives the residence its name Rosenhof, leads to stylishly finished rooms, each individually decorated.

Built in 1904 as a warehouse on the northern quayside of the harbour, it was converted into a luxury hotel in 1990, named after the Queen of England and her son. What gives the Victoria & Alfred its elegance, intimacy, romance and reputation is the attention to detail: wooden staircase, telescope, flowers and service... friendly and efficient, but never intrusive.
