Magashi Camp by Wilderness Safari

Akagera National Park in Rwanda is a place where, in an area of 6 ha, you can marvel at the beauty of animals roaming the savannah, including buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, impalas, topi antelopes, spotted hyenas and zebras. It is here that a unique camp was created, where guests can see how the park is being reborn after the destruction in 1994. In 2015, after a break of over 20 years, the lion population reappeared in the region, and since 2017 it has been possible to observe black rhinos again . Once neglected areas are now the focus of attention for those planning a luxury holiday in Rwanda. Not only because of the presence of the above-mentioned animals, but also because extremely interesting boat trips are organized here on the beautiful Rwanyakazinga lake, which can be combined with fishing, as well as the surrounding wetlands inhabited by numerous birds (over 500 species live in the region!).

Magashi Camp by Wilderness Safari was created in cooperation with the Rwanda Development Board to promote ecotourism in Rwanda. The aim is to protect Rwanda's last savannah ecosystem and endangered species, including black rhinos and shoebills. The Magashi Camp by Wilderness Safari camp itself consists of luxurious tents erected on the shores of Lake Rwanyakazinga. To get to it, you need to travel by boat, but thanks to this, guests can relax in a secluded place that guarantees complete privacy. The tents are decorated in earthy shades with pink accents. During their stay, guests will experience true Rwandan hospitality by participating in a traditional dinner accompanied by local songs and stories.

Most often, a stay at this facility, which is one of the best hotels in Rwanda, is the next stage of the trip after visiting the vibrant capital of the country, the city of Kigali, or spontaneous trekking in the Volcanoes National Park.
