Safari and beach relaxation

The seven-day expedition offers travelers a three-day safari within the Selous Game Reserve, the largest reserve in Africa, with an area larger than Switzerland. More than half of Tanzania's elephants live here, along with millions of other large animals. Guests will also admire one of the largest populations of hippos and crocodiles in Africa. The travelers will spend the last three days resting on the shores of the Indian Ocean at the luxurious Ras Kutani resort.

Trip plan:

1 Dar es-Salaam – Siwandu, Selous Game Reserve

After landing in Dar es-Salaam, transfer to the domestic terminal and flight to Selous Game Reserve (approx. 45 minutes). With a private driver who is also a guide, guests will embark on a short lunchtime safari to Siwand. Selous Game Reserve, where they will spend 3 nights, is the largest reserve in Africa, with an area larger than Switzerland and almost twice as large as Belgium! The local ecosystem consists of several protected areas and is one of the last parts of the great desert untouched by humans (over 90 km² in total). The largest river in East Africa, the Rufiji River, flows through the reserve, and it is home to over half of Tanzania's elephant population and over a million other large animals. During boat, car and walking trips, guests will also be able to admire one of the largest populations of hippos and crocodiles in Africa, as well as many species of fish and water birds. The return from the first safari is planned for sunset, in time for dinner.

2 - 4 Siwandu, Selous Game Reserve

Early in the morning, before setting off on your expedition, hot drinks (tea or coffee) will be served in the luxurious tent. Guests can choose the following safari options:

– by boat on the Rufiji River or Lake Nzerakera, during which they will see hippos, crocodiles and other animals appearing at the waterhole,

– walking safari with an experienced guide,

– safari in an open car – a wonderful journey through the wild African bush, during which guests will see some of the largest African mammals: elephants, giraffes, lions and panthers, as well as rare African hyenas.

Return to the camp for lunch and rest. Guests will have time for a siesta or relaxation in the pool. In the afternoon, enjoy a cup of tea or refreshing lemonade and delicious cookies, and then enjoy the second safari of the day - a leisurely walk along the Rufiji River. There is a good chance of tracking down, among others: leopards. We also offer an expedition around the Selous reserve, in the style of old safaris. We suggest walking or riding in an open jeep to the camp on the shore of the lake. Then relax in a hot shower and meet by the fire for evening cocktails and dinner under the star-filled African sky. Overnight stay in small tents (each with a sink).

4 Siwandu, Selous Game Reserve – Ras Kutani, Swahili Coast

Before leaving the Selous Game Reserve camp, you can go on one last safari or simply relax before breakfast. Guests will leave the camp around 9.00:90 a.m. and will take a short safari on the way to the Siwandu airstrip. A private driver will be waiting in Dar es-Salaam to take them to Ras Kutani by car. The journey will take approximately XNUMX minutes, guests will arrive in Ras Kutani at lunchtime.

Ras Kutaniis a small luxurious lodge, located on a beautiful sandy beach on the quiet coast of the Indian Ocean. In this unique place, guests will experience relaxation and blissful relaxation. They will be able to walk on the beach, through the coastal forest or visit the villages of Gomvu. We invite you to kayak trips, admire turtles and even whale watching.

4 - 7 Ras Kutani, Swahili Coast

During your stay in Ras Kutani, guests will relax after their last active days on safari with massages and beauty treatments at the spa. If they are interested in more active recreation and water sports, they can go on a kayaking trip or go snorkeling, as snorkeling equipment, boogie boards and kayaks are available to them. During walks in the coastal forests, guests will see approximately 130 species of trees on which monkeys frolic, including wonderful black and white Colobus monkeys.

7 Ras Kutani, Swahili Coast – Dar es-Salaam

These are the last hours under the tropical sun before returning to Dar es-Sala - am, from which the guests will fly to Europe.
