Shawa Luangwa Camp

What better place for a luxury holiday in Zambia than a camp created in cooperation with legendary guide Jacob Shaw, who was recognized at the World Guides Award as one of the 8 best in the world? He personally chose the place where the Shawa Luangwa Camp was built. He was guided by the beauty of the eastern bank of the Luangwa River, which is also an ideal point on the map for organizing trips to South Luangwa National Park.

During a trip to Zambia, this national park is one of the main attractions. It is one of the world's largest wildlife reserves, which live among mopane and miombo trees, grassy savannah and riverside forests. This is one of the best places in Zambia when it comes to observing elephants, buffaloes and antelopes, which are hunted by predators, including hyenas, deer and, above all, numerous leopards. It is the large population of these big cats that has caused South Lungwa National Park to be often referred to as the "valley of the leopard". You can also observe three endemic species here: the plains zebra, the Zambian giraffe and Cookson's wildebeest!

Trips by car, boat or on foot with an excellent guide by your side will allow you to learn about the specificity of the local ecosystem, while limiting the impact on its balance. The tour takes place in electric vehicles powered by solar energy, which minimizes the carbon footprint. During a leisurely cruise on the Zambezi River, you can see birds hunting for fish, crocodiles basking in the sun and elephants bathing. Binoculars will be useful to see the numerous birds found in the region - in total, over 400 different species live here!

Back at Shawa Luangwa Camp, guests can relax in the cool pool while watching for elephants or kudus that leisurely pass by the camp. The decor of luxury tents combines elegance and comfort thanks to the use of neutral colors. You can enjoy views of the bush every second of your stay - you can see it from every side! Each tent has a private terrace overlooking the meandering Zambezi River.
