Ruckomechi

The luxurious Ruckomechi lodge is located on the banks of the Zambezi River on the edge of Mana Pools National Park, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. It is an excellent choice for a holiday in Zimbabwe - during safari trips you can see all the most important animals living in the African savannah and riverine areas, including one of the largest populations of hippos in the world.

The name Mana Pools National Park itself refers to four main natural "pools", which are the remains of branches of the river that have not flowed for years. They attract wild animals all year round, both herbivores, such as buffaloes, zebras and kobs, and predators - cheetahs, lions and leopards. The surrounding riverside areas are inhabited by numerous birds, including bee-eaters, golden orioles and white-striped reptiles. It is worth going to the surrounding forests, dominated by huge trees of the Faidherbia albida species. These forests are eagerly visited by herds of elephants, which treat the bark of these trees as their favorite delicacy.

This is one of the first camps to be established in this region. Its location is not accidental - it delights with views not only of the river and surrounding forests, but also of the slopes of the Great Rift Valley looming in the distance.

Ruckomechi is ready to meet any guests' wishes - for example, it can organize a night in a tree house among wild nature and near a watering hole frequented by animals. These hippos can be viewed from a safe distance during a kayak trip. During cruises on the Zambezi River, it is also worth fishing and catching tiger fish.

The hotel also participates in pro-ecological initiatives, e.g. supporting projects aimed at protecting the population of wild lions in the region.
