Vacations and trips in Yucatan with CARTER®

Luxury travel doesn't have to just consist of staying in a five-star hotel on the beach. We offer you something more than that, without compromising the convenience and comfort of exclusive travel. The direction we encourage you to visit separates the Caribbean Sea from the Gulf of Mexico and is located in Mexico and partly in the territory of neighboring countries, i.e. Guatemala and Belize. The Mexican part of the Yucatan Peninsula covers three states: Yucatan, Quintana Roo with the famous Cancún and Campeche, and has an area slightly larger than half of Poland. Yucatan is known primarily for its Mayan ruins and access to the Caribbean Sea. However, we want to show that this is only a fraction of what the beautiful Peninsula has to offer! What is it about this region that makes it the favorite part of Mexico for many? First of all, it is a huge area of tropical beaches, full of spectacular wildlife, ancient Mayan cities, small colonial villages and outdoor activities. The Yucatan Peninsula is also home to emerald waters that turn into turquoise waves and crash on Yucatan beaches with sand as white as flour. WITH Carter you will visit all the greatest attractions and haciendas with a private guide. Upon special request, we also prepare individual travel programs tailored to even the most demanding customers.

The greatest attractions of Yucatan: Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen and much more

1. Cenotes

When taking you on a luxurious journey around Mexico, we cannot omit visiting a unique place in the world - Cenotes. These are deep underground limestone wells with crystal clear water. They were created many millions of years ago by a meteorite impact. Although meteorites continue to fall to this day, it is believed that this impact resulted in the extinction of the dinosaurs. There are over 6 Cenotes on the Yucatan Peninsula, but the deepest of all existing ones is about 339 m deep and is not located in this part of Mexico. These underground wells give us the opportunity to dive or swim at an average depth of 30-50 m. Exclusive travels cannot be completed without the cherry on the cake, which are Cenotes.

2. Chichen Itza

Another key point to visit in Yucatan is the famous Chichen Itza, the sacred Mayan city, which is on the UNESCO list. The 5 square kilometer city also includes a cultural and archaeological treasure, which is also one of the new seven wonders of the world, the Kukulkan temple. Today, when walking the streets of this place, you can feel the magic in the air.

3.Cozumel

It is impossible not to mention the most exclusive place in Mexico, the island of Cozumel. An oasis of luxury, a wide range of the world's best resorts and hotels, the stunning beauty of the beaches and the vicinity of the Caribbean Sea make you not want to come back from this place. The abundance of attractions makes it impossible to get bored here. If you are looking for the perfect place for diving, kitesurfing, swimming with turtles or snorkeling - here you will find all this and more. The island of Cozumel also provides unique experiences - you can look for pearls in the sea or visit the Barrier Reef National Park.

4. Riviera Maya

One of the most popular recently, the Riviera Maya holiday region has to offer an endless riot of colors, tastes and smells. Starting from the divine Playa del Carmen, where you can spend a truly luxurious holiday in the Caribbean, among green palm trees with your favorite cocktail in your hand, through the stunning Tulum with pre-Columbian ruins, to Cancun, which is the most frequently chosen Mexican destination among American and European tourists. To find heaven on earth, we don't have to look far, just go to the island of Cozumel or Isla Mujeres with the best hotels in the world. What more could you want from a perfect vacation in Mexican paradise?

5.Tulum

Tulum is known mainly for its phenomenal beaches, but also for its archaeological sites that reflect what the Mayan culture was like many hundreds of years ago. The famous El Castillo pyramid, with turquoise water crashing against its rocks, is an icon of the Mayan structure from which a divine Caribbean view unfolds. In Tulum, we can also indulge in one of the most extraordinary experiences imaginable - it is an ideal place for diving, snorkeling or swimming in the world's longest underground hydrological system, the above-mentioned Cenotes. This place also boasts some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet - Akumal, Xcacel and Bahía Príncipe. Apart from being a Caribbean paradise, Tulum also surprises with a multitude of attractions, including the must-visit Turtle Temple, as well as an interesting solution for being eco friendly – i.e. shopping madness at Caravana and La Troupé – where you can find clothes and accessories mostly made of organic materials. For those who enjoy unearthly flavors, we offer lunch at the most popular seafood restaurant prepared in the Mayan style - El Camello.

6. Izamal

We invite you on a unique journey through a city obsessed with one color. Almost all the walls and roofs in the city of Izamal were painted yellow especially for the visit of John Paul II in 1993 and were never repainted. Izamal consists of several hills that in ancient times sheltered Mayan pyramids. Let's take a walk around this magical place to hear the Mayan language still spoken every day.

7.Merida

The largest city and the capital of the state of Yucatan offers unforgettable walks through the delightful streets from the colonial period, delicious food that will provide us with an extraordinary taste experience. Countless tourist attractions, monuments and immersion in the city's history are must-sees on every tourist's agenda. When in Merida, you must try the Xtabentún drink, which is produced from the plant of the same name. In the Mayan language it means "a vine that grows on a stone" and, according to legend, it was supposed to be a symbol of a woman who seduces men.

8. XcaretPark

You don't need to be persuaded to visit the Xcaret Theme Park. One of the best Mexican companies offers endless attractions, among which adventure seekers, history explorers and lovers of peaceful relaxation will find their way. Extreme slides, a park of butterflies and exotic birds, a coral aquarium, underground caves and rivers, jungle hikes, beaches, wine tasting, natural swimming pools, the Museum of Popular Art of Mexico, a Mexican cemetery, dance shows and much, much more - this is the best form of advertising this an extraordinary park.

9. Las Coloradas

Less known, but no less worth visiting, are the magical lakes called Las Coloradas, where the sea turns a beautiful pink color. Salt from lakes is used in industry. The pink color is due to a chemical process - when the water evaporates, the salinity causes the growth of red algae, plankton and brine shrimp, coloring the water red. An interesting fact is that because algae, plankton and shrimp are the basic ingredients of the flamingo's diet, when they eat them, the birds turn pink!

10. Holbox

If there is a paradise on Earth, it is Holbox Island, which means black hole in the Mayan language. It is one of the few islands in the world that has not yet been reached by mass tourism, which makes it a perfect place for an exclusive trip. Paradise beaches surrounded by transparent turquoise water, omnipresent peace, people creating an extraordinary atmosphere and unforgettable sunsets make it the right place to experience a perfect holiday. Swimming with whale sharks, resting in a hammock suspended over the water, or feeding turtles? The choice is yours.

Tourists are offered the opportunity to dive or snorkel along the coast, where sea turtles feed on the sea grass. Another attraction of Akumal is the Mexican Bay of Dolphins (Xcacel-Xcacelito), which is located near the town. This is a protected area where you can observe wild dolphins in their natural habitat.
