Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa

The only luxury lodge in the region, surrounded by extraordinary nature everywhere. It is located in a lush valley in the Salt Mountains (Cordillera de la Sal). The design of the facility refers to local, rural architecture, and the resort fits perfectly into its surroundings.

Even though it is immersed in overwhelming silence, it allows you to fully get to know the culture of the inhabitants. Guests are encouraged to explore the diverse desert landscape on hiking or biking tours.

The property's team will be happy to help you visit geysers, canyons, Inca ruins, petroglyphs and hot springs. You can choose from over 30 luxury tours on site. For example, guests can visit the archaeological site of Tulor, a 2400-year-old city, see the El Valle de la Luna valley with interesting geological formations, observe the night sky in the only open-air observatory in the region, and hike through the Garganta del Diablo canyon with beautiful views to the Salt Mountains.

The best Chilean architects were responsible for the concept of the luxurious lodge. The carefully designed gardens that surround the exclusive apartments with private terraces showcase the desert flora on full display. The restaurant serves dishes prepared from fresh, organic products supplied by local producers. Guests can try, for example, locally grown potatoes, regional quinoa and sweets with the local chañar plant.

Dishes can be accompanied by excellent wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Carmanere. Although the Atacama is one of the driest places in the world, the spa offers a selection of wet-zone amenities, such as a sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi.
