Mashpi Lodge

The facility is located on a plateau covered with rainforest, at an altitude of 950 m above sea level, ensuring a comfortable and luxurious stay. It belongs to the National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World™ group and offers various forms of recreation and attractions under the supervision of naturalists and guides from local communities. It is worth visiting the nearby waterfalls and immersing yourself in the warm water, riding a cable car over the treetops, among them and under them, as well as riding bicycles suspended on ropes in the forest. This is a great way to experience the wildlife of the Mashpi Reserve, which covers 1200 hectares. The rainforest is home to 400 species of birds (36 endemic), monkeys, mammals from the peccary family, and even pumas. There is a research station in the reserve, whose employees protect and analyze the life of butterflies, birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles and mammals. They even discovered several new species. The hotel was designed in a modernist style, combining steel, stone, glass and warm earthy colors. You can observe the jungle from the wonderful terrace with a pergola-like roof. The restaurant serves delicious dishes inspired by Ecuadorian traditions. Ingredients from the forest are used to prepare many dishes, e.g. wild garlic, chillangua spice (eryngium foetidum), i.e. Mexican coriander. The wellness area is located in a quiet place next to the hotel, offering massages and various treatments as well as yoga exercises.
