Casa San Agustin Cartagena

A boutique hotel located in the very center of the historic part of Cartagena. The history of this large port city dates back to the 16th century, when the first settlement and a small fort were founded here by Spanish conquistadors. At the end of the century, the city was plundered by the English, which prompted the Spanish monarch to build the powerful fort of San Matias, which was expanded in later years. The 17th and 18th centuries were a period of expansion for the city, whose commercial and military importance in the region was constantly growing. Casa San Agustin's interior design refers to those times. The hotel was created by combining three historic houses, as can be seen from the wooden beam ceilings and the frescoes decorating the library. Even a short stay at the hotel allows you to feel the spirit of history hovering over the city. The courtyard and the swimming pool surrounded by a wall, full of plants and lanterns, are particularly impressive, creating an amazing atmosphere. Gourmands for whom a journey through flavors is as important as one across continents will surely like the Alma restaurant, serving colorful Colombian cuisine with Caribbean accents. In the evening, enjoy a drink in the courtyard or terrace and let yourself be carried away by the rhythms of cumbi, the national dance of Colombia. We recommend spending your free time on walking or cycling tours around the historic center of Cartagena, visiting the fortifications included in the UNSESCO list or going to the beach. This is where the hotel comes to our aid, organizing trips to the islet of Baru. Tired of the madness in the Caribbean Sea, we can find respite in the hotel SPA, whose name refers to the nourishing power of the sun.
