Corocora Camp Los Llanos

A real treat for lovers of nature in its wildest form. Corocora Camp is a luxury camp located in the heart of Los Llanos. It is one of the most biodiverse regions in this part of South America, stretching on both banks of the Orinoco River, in the territories of Colombia and Venezuela. Its area is 570 km0002, so it is slightly larger than France. The Llanos consist mainly of grassy savannahs, which during and immediately after the rainy season transform into some of the largest swamps in the world. The characteristic species of this region include anteaters, anacondas, capybaras, deer and monkeys. With a bit of luck, Corocora guests will also be able to see an ocelot and even the famous puma. Due to the amount of food and good breeding conditions, llanos is a habitat for over 260 species of birds, including the extremely beautiful and rare scarlet ibis. They are also associated with the region llaneros, i.e. local cowboys. Nothing stops you from spending a day in the saddle, learning horse riding and using a lasso. Llaneros are also excellent storytellers who will entertain tourists many evenings around the bonfire with their stories and perhaps even raw male poetry. In Corocora, guests have at their disposal four tents with a private terrace, bathroom and hammock, decorated with local handicrafts. Meals are eaten in a shared tent. There is also a collection of books and a bar stocked with the best drinks available in Colombia. Finally, a few words about the kitchen itself. At Corocora, the focus is on local food, based on regional recipes, freshly squeezed juices, homemade jams, and coffee, naturally coming from Colombia.
