Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica

In a unique place, just a few steps from the rainforest inhabited by over 540 species of birds, there is a lodge that in 2013 was recognized by National Geographic Traveler magazine as one of the 25 best eco-lodges in the world. Here, in the Tambopata Nature Reserve, you can see intriguing wildlife on cruises on the famous Madre de Dios River. During expeditions you can look out for e.g. herons and ospreys.

Guests can also visit the wooden bridge built over the marshes, which is an observation point for snakes, reptiles and amphibians. There is also a 7,3 km long path that will allow you to see exotic trees and the animals living among them. Walks are also organized at night, when many creatures are just waking up from sleep and the forest is filled with amazing sounds of nature.

It is not far from here to the famous Sandoval Lake, which is inhabited by red howler monkeys, macaws and prehistoric hoatzins. It is worth visiting the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center, where there are suspension bridges among the treetops, connecting 8 viewing platforms. Thanks to this, you can observe the nature below. The Lodge offers spacious cottages with shallow swimming pools. Their decor refers to the culture of the Ese Ejja tribe inhabiting the Amazon region.

In the restaurant you can try dishes with interesting tropical flavors of the region, prepared from local ingredients. The spa is located on the river bank. Specialists offer a selection of treatments using local products, e.g. cocoa trees, as well as interesting therapies, including a cleansing ritual using fluffy tea, which improves lymph circulation.
