Luxury in the land of the Mayans

We invite travelers on a luxurious expedition to the world of the lost Mayan civilization in Yucatan. The 16-day expedition starts in Mexico City - the capital of Mexico, but on the third day they will be in the capital of the Yucatan Peninsula - Merida. Staying overnight in historic haciendas, guests will spend their days visiting ancient Mayan cities and bathing in karst wells. They will visit, among others: Uxmal and Chichén Itzá. Finally, we propose a rest on the Riviera Maya.

Route: Mexico City -> plane -> Merida -> car -> Uxmal -> car -> Mayapan -> car -> Chichen Itza -> car -> Izamal -> Riviera Maya -> car -> Cancun

Trip plan:

1 Mexico City

A local representative of our office will welcome guests at the airport in Mexico City. With a personal driver, they will go to the luxurious Las Alcobas hotel.

2 Mexico City

After breakfast, guests will go sightseeing the city with a private guide. They will see the historical center of the capital of Mexico - pl. Zócalo Zócalo (officially Plaza de la Constitución), which includes, among others, The Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace with numerous wall paintings by Diego Rivera, the so-called murals. Surrounded by beautiful buildings from the colonial era, there are the remains of the most important Aztec religious building - the Templo Mayor. In the afternoon, guests will visit the Anthropological Museum, where 12 rooms contain the most excellent archaeological collections, devoted to, among others, individual regions of Mexico, as well as pre-Columbian civilizations.

3 Mexico City – Yucatan (Merida)

In the morning, a personal driver will take guests to the airport for their flight to Merida, Yucatan. Then, we will travel to the 5th-century hacienda Temozón, beautifully restored and turned into an elegant XNUMX* hotel. Guests will have the opportunity to relax in the magnificent gardens, swim in the swimming pool and cenote*, taste local dishes and undergo spa treatments.

*Cenote – a natural well, once used by the Mayans as a drinking water reservoir, and now available for bathing.

4 Yucatán (Merida) – Dzibilchaltún

On this day, we offer a guided tour of Dzibilchaltún, the ancient home of the Mayans. The main building is the so-called Temple of the Seven Dolls. In the local museum you can also see steles from Uxmal and Chichén Itzá. In the area of ​​the archaeological site there is a 40 m deep cenote, a natural well that once served the Mayans as a drinking water reservoir, and is now available for bathing. Then, with a private guide, guests will explore the wonderfully preserved city of Merida. They will see, among others: cathedral, the Anthropological Museum and elegant XNUMXth-century residences.

5 Yucatan

A visit to the Sotuta de Peon hacienda and the henequen agave plantation located there. For those interested – swimming in a cenote. Overnight at Hacienda Temozón.

6 ukatan – Celestún National Park

A boat trip to Celestún National Park, admiring fauna and flora, including: flamingos, and bathing in a spring. A visit to an authentic fishing village. Relaxation on the beach and lunch - seafood (extra fee).

7 Yucatan – Uxmal – Xocnaceh hacienda

The day will begin with a guided tour of the famous archaeological site - Uxmal, a Mayan city. Guests will see numerous monuments, such as: the Step Pyramid with the Sorcerer's Temple (Temple of the Fortune Teller), the Governor's Palace, the Turtle House, the ruins of buildings called the Nuns' House, the Old Woman's House and a pelota pitch. They will then go for lunch at Hacienda Xocnaceh, a unique historic place where you can enjoy a delicious meal. After lunch, relax in the pool, explore the hacienda or just relax.

8 Yucatan

Check-out from hacienda Temozón and transfer to hacienda San Jose. Free time to relax.

9 Yucatan – Mayapan – Cuzama Cenotes

Private trip to Mayapan - a Mayan political center on the Yucatan Peninsula in the period from approximately 1220 to 1440 AD. After the tour, a break for lunch (on your own), and then a visit to the Cuzama Cenotes - the opportunity to swim in the crystalline waters.

10 Yucatan – Chichén Itzá

Visiting the wonderful Chichén Itzá, where guests will see, among others: the famous pyramid, recognized as one of the new seven wonders of the world, and the Holy Well - cenote. Transfer to Xocempich and the opportunity to swim in the crystal waters of the cenote and have lunch in beautiful scenery.

11 - 15 Riviera Maya

Departure towards Riviera Maya. Along the way, a visit to the unique town of Izamal, famous for its yellow buildings, on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Lunch at the famous El Kinich restaurant (extra fee). Then transfer to a luxurious Nomad Story hotel on the Riviera Maya, rest on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and swim in the clear water.

16 Riviera Maya

Transfer to the airport in Cancún and return to Poland.
