Arkaba

CARTER invites guests on an unforgettable journey to a secluded nature reserve with an area of 24000 ha, home to a variety of birds and wild animals such as kangaroos and emus. Property owners focus on stopping the extinction of free-living creatures and limiting the negative consequences of cattle grazing.

The area has been inhabited by people over the centuries, as evidenced by, among others: paintings in caves and engravings on rocks. When going on a trip, guests can count on an exclusive safari in open off-road vehicles. The guides share their wealth of knowledge and are also happy to assist guests during trips along streams and hills.

Moreover, you can learn a lot about the history of the Adnamatna people, who first settled the region. It is worth going to the hideout, from where you can observe 36 different species of birds and various endemic animals, e.g. echidnas, short-tailed skinks, pogons, Gould's lizards, ctenophoruses and gray, red and mountain kangaroos. For those interested, it is possible to organize a flight over the picturesque areas on request.

During the holidays, guests stay in a farmhouse dating back to 1851, which only accommodates 10 guests at a time. Each room has its own interesting style, but all are equipped with covered verandas with beautiful views of the surrounding prairies. A great time to talk to the guides and listen to the intriguing sounds of the bush are meals that can be enjoyed on the terrace. Dishes are cooked from local ingredients and accompanied by delicious regional wines.
