What is worth visiting in New Zealand?

Visiting New Zealand involves visiting two main islands - the North and South Islands. The main entry point to this country is the largest city in terms of population - Auckland, also known as the "city of sails". Like most of the northern part of the northern island of New Zealand, Auckland's landscape contains volcanic formations - there are as many as 52 cones within the city, which give it its hilly character. There are many popular tourist attractions near the city.

The first one is Waiheke Island. It is an extremely charming island where you can find vineyards, olive groves, beautiful beaches and quiet seaside villages. There are also many local artists working there - painters, sculptors and ceramicists. During a trip with a private guide, tailored to your preferences, you can go for a tasting of excellent wines, visit artists' workshops, see the most beautiful corners of the island, or simply relax on the beach.

Higher to the north there is the so-called Bay of Islands – an ideal place to relax. A number of private, intimate and, above all, luxurious hotel facilities are located in this area. A retreat for connoisseurs.

Another attraction is one of the greatest attractions of the region - the Waitomo Cave, whose walls are illuminated by "worms", the pupae of a fly of the species Arachnocampa Luminosa. A trip with an experienced local guide is a dream lesson for children and adults.

We cannot forget about Hobbit, known from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. A visit to this place is a unique opportunity to discover the Shire - the Hobbit village. During the tour, you will be able to stay at the Green Dragon Inn, see 44 Hobbit houses, the famous bridge and the party tree. A photo at Bilbo's house is a souvenir for life.

An attraction slightly further inland is the town of Rotorua, considered the New Zealand capital of geothermal phenomena. In Wai-O-Tapu you can see geothermal areas up close, full of geysers, volcanoes, mud pools and hot springs.

Another important point of this region is the Tongariro National Park, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List as a natural heritage site. The local fauna and flora will delight many travelers.

The main attractions of the southern island include the town of Queenstown, located on Lake Wakatipu. The main ski resort and center for trekking trips, including: to the UNESCO-listed Mount Aspiring National Park.

Nearby attractions include Milford Bay, part of Fiordland National Park. It is one of New Zealand's greatest attractions. Milford Bay is characterized by unique fauna and flora. The adjacent salt and fresh waters create an environment that is partly a lake and an ocean. On site, you will admire amazing landscapes: phenomenal fjords and their steep cliffs descending into the bay itself, and water streams cascading into it (depending on the weather - Milford Bay is one of the rainiest places in the world and the phenomenon is observed after heavy rains). .
