Blanket Bay

Blanket Bay, considered one of the most luxurious lodges in New Zealand, delights with its location on the shore of Lake Wakatipu, from which you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps. It is a unique choice for outdoor enthusiasts as it is home to many walking trails, including the Routeburn and Milford trails, world renowned for the picturesque landscapes typical of Fiordland National Park.

During trips to areas inhabited by deer and chamois, guests will see glacial lakes, waterfalls and secluded beech forests. You can also go horseback riding around one of New Zealand's most famous estates, Wyuana Station, or around the lake. Such a trip can last up to half a day. Golfers can enjoy a championship 18-hole, par 72 course with a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains.

People who like a shot of adrenaline can order heliskiing in the mountains, where the average altitude difference during the descent is 750 m. The surrounding rivers, small lakes and rapid streams are ideal for fishing, including rainbow trout and sea trout. Local vineyards are famous for their delicious fruit. You can taste interesting wines here, including delicious pinot noir, which is considered by many to be the tastiest in the world.

During luxurious holidays, guests live in interiors with views of the mountains and the lake, decorated using natural materials. You can also look at nature in the spa, using the jacuzzi and the 6x8 m outdoor heated swimming pool, which is available in the summer. Meals can be enjoyed in the elegant dining room, which tempts with a cozy atmosphere thanks to its fireplace and architecture, such as the classic beam ceiling.
