Sky kingdoms of the Himalayas

At the foot of the Himalayas, in their valleys and highlands, there are three Buddhist kingdoms (although one is formally part of China) - Bhutan, Nepal and Tibet. During a 15-day, luxurious expedition, guests will visit each of them, admiring extraordinary landscapes and astonishing nature, learning about culture and history - including the struggle to defend threatened traditions, whether by the regime or the forces of nature, admiring how Nepal is rebuilding destroyed treasures in the 2015 earthquake

Trip plan:

1 Paro – Thimphu

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, guests will be welcomed by a representative of our exclusive travel agency and transferred to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, where they will be accommodated at the luxurious Taj Tashi hotel. If time permits, they will visit Dzong Simtokha, which is considered the first monastery built in Bhutan. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.

2 Thimphu

After breakfast, guests will start their tour of Thimphu from the National Library of Bhutan. Then they will go to the Folk Heritage Museum, which houses many exhibits from rural farms. Guests will also visit the National Institute of Medicine and the Thimphu chorten. Finally, they will go to the most impressive building in Bhutan - Tashichho Dzong, where they will be able to admire the throne room of His Majesty the King of Bhutan. 3 Dochula – Punakha Pass

Guests will depart for Punakha after breakfast. On the way, they will stop at the Dochula Pass, where they will admire wonderful views of the Himalayas. There are also 108 chortens erected in memory of Bhutanese soldiers who died fighting Indian rebels in 2003. From Metshina village, guests will take a 20-minute walk through rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang Temple, considered a fertility temple. Then they will go to Punakha. 4 Punakha

After breakfast, visit Punakha Dzong. In the afternoon, guests will hike to the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, built on the edge of a hill that rises majestically above the Punakha Valley. A walk along the moderately incline trail among the pine trees will provide guests with many opportunities to admire the wonderful landscapes. After reaching the top, you will be able to enjoy the view of the Mo Chu River and mountain peaks. Return to the luxury hotel and overnight stay.

5 Steam

Early in the morning, after breakfast, guests will depart for Paro, where they will visit the National Museum of Bhutan. This unique circular building houses a collection of the most outstanding Bhutanese works of art. Guests will then see a prime example of Bhutanese architecture, Paro Dzong. 6 Takstang Monastery

Today, guests will go to the Takstang Monastery, the unofficial symbol of Bhutan. This majestic structure, often referred to as the "Tiger's Nest", was built on a vertical cliff at an altitude of 3 meters. mi is one of the most famous Buddhist monasteries in Bhutan. Return to the exclusive hotel in Paro and overnight stay.

7 Paro – Kathmandu

In the morning, guests will go to the airport in Paro, from where they will fly to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be met by a local representative of our exclusive travel agency and transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay at the luxurious Dwarika hotel.

8 Kathmandu

After breakfast, guests will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Swayambhuntah Stupa, one of the holiest Buddhist temples in Nepal. Then they will go to Patan, where the most outstanding craftsmen in the Kathmandu valley have their workshops. In the heart of the city of Patan, you can see another monument from the UNESCO World Heritage List - Durbar Square, which is surrounded by ancient palaces, pagodas and Hindu temples. During lunch, guests will take part in a cooking show, which will allow them to learn about Nepali cuisine and taste local specialties. In the evening, they will visit the Boudhantah Stupa, an important center of Tibetan Buddhism. The temple was built on a three-level platform, decorated with 3 images of Buddha, and is one of the largest in the world. Return to the luxury hotel and overnight stay.

9 Kathmandu – Pokhara

After breakfast, guests will go to the airport, from where they will fly to Pokhara, also called the "Jewel of the Himalayas". The tour will start at Devi Waterfall. The flowing water forms an underground tunnel here and then flows through the Gupteshwor Mahadev cave, one of the longest in Nepal. Guests will also visit the International Mountain Museum, and after lunch they will go to the hotel, where they will have time to relax. Accommodation at the luxurious Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge.

10 Pokhara

For bird watching enthusiasts, there is a walk with an experienced guide. This will be an excellent opportunity to observe many bird species typical of this region while searching for food. After breakfast, guests will go on a walking tour to the villages in the area. Return to the luxury hotel and overnight stay.

11 Pokhara – Kathmandu – Bhaktapur – Kathmandu

Guests will fly to Kathmandu after breakfast. In Kathmandu, they will visit the magnificent Pashupatinath temple, considered the holiest among all temples erected in honor of Lord Shiva. Then they will go to Bhaktapur. This beautiful city with a unique atmosphere seems untouched by rapidly increasing urbanization. There are charming cobblestone streets and red brick houses. 12 Kathmandu – Lhasa

After breakfast, guests will fly from Kathmandu to Tibet. Upon arrival at the airport, they will be transferred to Lhasa, also known as the "City of Gods", the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Lhasa is located in the valley of the river of the same name and you can find many unique religious sites here. After settling in, you will have free time to get used to being at these heights. 13 Lhasa

Guests will see a real architectural gem, the Potala Palace, which was the seat of Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, since the 7th century. Then they will go to Norbulingka Palace, located on the bank of the Kyichu River and surrounded by the largest park in Tibet. Its Tibetan name literally means "Garden of Treasures". There are many chapels, fountains and wonderful specimens of flowers and trees. Guests will also visit the Jokhang ("House of the Lord"), the oldest and most revered Buddhist temple in Tibet, and then stroll along Barkhor Street, which runs through the old city. 14 Lhasa

After breakfast, guests will depart for a tour of Drepung Monastery. There are many relics here, such as statues of Buddhist gods, rare sutras and the famous conch shells, which are among the 8 magical gems of Buddhism. Guests will then go to the Sera Monastery, where many lively debates on the doctrine of Buddhism take place. In the monastery you can admire Buddhist scripts, impressive statues and wonderful frescoes. Return to the luxury hotel and overnight stay.

15 Lhasa

Transfer to Lhasa-Gonggar airport and flight back to the country.
