UNESCO metropolises and monuments

We invite you to the Middle Kingdom - China - on a 16-day, luxurious expedition leading through the most important metropolises of this huge country, from Beijing, through Xian to Hong Kong. We will take guests on a tour of monuments included in the UNESCO World Heritage List - including the Forbidden City in Beijing, a hike along the Great Wall of China and a close-up meeting with the Terracotta Army of the first emperor Qin Shi Huang.

Trip plan:

1 Beijing

Upon arrival in Beijing, guests will be met by their guide and transferred by private transportation to the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, where they will stay for the next 4 nights. In the afternoon there will be free time to rest after the long flight. A guide with a car will be at guests' disposal during their entire stay in Beijing.

2 Beijing

A full-day sightseeing tour of Beijing, which will start with a drive through the center of the metropolis towards Tiananmen Square, where the seat of the Chinese Parliament is located. Then, passing through the Gate of Heavenly Peace, from where Mao announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, and visiting the Forbidden City - the former seat of the imperial dynasties of China. After lunch at Capital M Restaurant, with a beautiful view of Tiananmen Square, guests will visit the Hutong district, famous for its narrow streets and historic courtyards and houses. They will also take a ride in a traditional rickshaw to feel the unique atmosphere of the district. In the afternoon, guests will have a unique opportunity to spend time in one of the houses in the Hutong district, where they will learn about the life of the inhabitants and the local cuisine.

3 - 4 Beijing

In the following days, guests will visit the famous Great Wall of China and the 798 Art District, a district of contemporary art by local artists, where a military factory was formerly located. The next point of the day will be a visit to the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors of China came to pray for a bountiful harvest. Currently, residents come there in the morning to practice tai-chi and ballroom dancing - we provide the opportunity to participate in a tai-chi lesson with our master. Then, guests will go to the Silk & Pearl Market, where it is worth buying souvenirs and negotiating skills will come in handy. The next point of sightseeing will be the Beijing Zoo. Guests will see, among others: a giant panda, one of about 1800 living in the world. After lunch at the Bai Family Mansion restaurant, visit the Imperial Summer Palace, a symbol of wealth that surrounded the emperors of China.

5 Beijing – Pingyao

In the morning, transfer to Beijing airport and flight to Taiyuan city. Upon arrival, guests will be met by a local guide and transferred to Pingyao City. The journey will take approximately 1,5 hours. Accommodation at The Jing's Hotel for the next 2 nights.

6 Pingyao

Explore a fascinating, well-preserved city from the Ming dynasty. Guests will visit Ancient City Wall and Rishengchang Draft Bank, China's first bank. In the afternoon, free time is planned to discover the charms of the city on your own.

7 Pingyao – Xian

After breakfast, guests will leave Pingyao and head to The Chang Family Compound, which is a perfect example of the close family relationships that existed in this part of China. Family relationships had a very positive impact on commercial activity, providing significant wealth to transaction participants. The next stage of the journey is a transfer to Taiyuan airport and a flight to Xian. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by a local guide and transferred to the Sofitel hotel, where they will spend 2 nights.

8 Xian

The highlight of a visit to Xian, or perhaps even any trip to China, is seeing the Terracotta Army and the place where it was recently discovered. Guests will go to the mausoleum of the first emperor of China - Qin Shihuang, and then see the soldiers of the Terracotta Army, which was supposed to guard his tomb. Our tour has special access to a lower viewing platform from which guests will be able to admire the warriors from a closer distance. Then, we will visit the old city, the Muslim quarter and the 14th century Great Mosque surrounded by beautiful, quiet gardens. In the evening, guests will enjoy a performance in the style of the Tang Dynasty.

9 Xian - Lijiang

Transfer to the airport and flight to Lijiang. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to The Banyan Tree Lijiang Resort for 3 nights.

10 - 11 Lijiang

On the first day, visit the fascinating old town of Dayan with a guide who will introduce you to its culture and history. A visit to the Black Dragon Pool park for afternoon relaxation. The entire second day is devoted to admiring the landscapes outside the city of Lijiang. We suggest discovering these extraordinary places by car, on foot or on horseback. The route leads to Wenhai Lake, rarely visited by tourists. The villages you pass will give guests an image of China from many years ago and a unique opportunity to observe the lives of ordinary inhabitants. Then we suggest lunch at Baisha Village and a visit to Yu Hu Village, where the famous traveler Dr. Joseph Rock lived.

12 Lijiang – Hong Kong

After breakfast, meeting with your guide, transfer to Lijiang Airport and flight to Hong Kong. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a local guide and then transferred to the Peninsula Hotel, where guests will spend the next 4 nights.

13 Hong Kong

We will start our tour of Hong Kong from the places where the city's roots lie. We suggest visiting one of the city's markets - Dried Provisions Markets. Guests will be introduced to a huge selection of dried foods, and the guide will explain how to use them for cooking, e.g. soups, and even preparing traditional medicines. Then, guests will visit the Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Road, and then take a historic train ride to Victoria Hill, which offers an extraordinary view of Victoria Harbor. After a traditional Dim Sum Lunch, the next stage of the tour will be Aberdeen - a fishing port in the southern part of Hong Kong, where we will offer guests a cruise on a traditional sampan boat (which has been a symbol of Hong Kong for many years). The tour will be complemented by a visit to Stanley Market.

14 Hong Kong

After breakfast, guests will go to explore Lantau Island, which is the largest of Hong Kong's islands. Then they will take a ferry to Mui Wo, where they will see a traditional fishing village where time has stopped. Then, on Lantau Hill, they will see the largest Buddha statue in the world. The next point of the program is a traditional vegetarian lunch offered at the Buddhist restaurant. After the meal, visit Po Lin Monastery - an active Buddhist temple surrounded by picturesque mountains, and ride the Nogong Ping 360 cable car, which offers breathtaking views of the town of Tung Chung. After these attractions, guests will be transferred to the hotel for overnight stay.

15 Macau

On this day, the guide will welcome guests in the hotel lobby and take them to the Sky Shuttle Heliport terminal. They will fly by helicopter to Macau (flight time is about 15 minutes) - a former Portuguese colony. Guests will visit the ruins of San Paolo Cathedral, see monuments and temples hidden in the Old City of Macau. A visit to the casinos in Cotai Strip and Macau Tower is also planned. We invite you for dinner to the famous Litoral Restaurant. Return to Hong Kong by ferry (cruise takes approximately 1 hour), then transfer to your hotel.

16 Hong Kong

After breakfast, meeting with the guide and transfer to the airport. We also provide assistance during check-in at the airport before departure.
