Indonesian Mosaic

The incredible wealth of nature and evidence of various cultures await travelers on a luxurious trip to Indonesia, where Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and local traditions have competed for centuries. During 16 days, guests will visit thousand-year-old temples - the Buddhist Borobudur and the Hindu Pramamban, the rock tombs of the Tana Toraja people, and will have the opportunity to admire the wonderful nature of Indonesia. We will end the trip in Bali.

Trip plan:

1 Medan

Upon arrival at Kuala Namu International Airport, guests will be greeted by a local representative of our exclusive travel agency and will begin exploring the city. They will see, among others: including the palace of the Sultan Deli-Maimoon and Masjid Raya, the largest mosque in Medan. Overnight stay at the exclusive Tiara or Aryaduta hotel.

2 Medan – Bukit Lawang – Medan

Early in the morning, guests will depart towards Bukit Lawang with several stops at rubber, palm oil and cocoa plantations. In Bukit Lawang, they will walk along the banks of the Bohorok River, then cross the river in small kayaks and go to Orang Utan Station, where they will have the opportunity to observe orangutans while feeding. The return journey to the river station follows a steep trail through the pristine rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park. After crossing the river, guests will make their way back to Medan. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Accommodation.

3 Medan – Sipiso Piso waterfall – Parapat – Samosir island

After breakfast, guests will head to Lake Toba, one of the deepest and largest crater lakes in the world. Along the way, which leads through picturesque surroundings, they will stop in the village of Dokan, where the Sipiso Piso waterfall is located. Upon arrival in Parapat, a small town on the shore of Lake Toba, guests will take a ferry to the island of Samosir, where the Batak tribe lives. Accommodation on the island at the luxurious Toledo Inn or Tabo Cottage.

4 Samosir Island

After breakfast, guests will learn about the natural beauty of the island and the culture of the Batak tribe. The expedition will start in Ambarita, where in front of traditional houses you can admire megalithic remains from prehistoric times. Then, guests will go to Simanindo, where they will take part in a folkloric dance show performed by the villagers. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Guests will also visit historical graves in Tomok. Return to the exclusive hotel and overnight stay.

5 Samosir Island – Medan – Jakarta

After checking out of the hotel, guests will take a ferry across Lake Toba to Parapat, from where they will depart for Medan. Along the way, they will enjoy stunning views of the Bukit Barisan mountain range. From Medan airport, they will fly to Jakarta, where they will be welcomed by a local representative of our exclusive travel agency and then transferred to a luxury hotel. Overnight stay at Alila Jakarta or Grand Mercure Jakarta Harmoni hotel.

6 Jakarta – Yogyakarta

Today, guests will visit the most interesting places in Jakarta, such as the port of Sunda Kelapa, where magnificent schooners are moored phinisi, Fatahillah Square or Taman Mini – Indonesian Miniature Park. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, guests will go to the airport, from where they will fly to Yogyakarta. Accommodation at the luxurious Novotel Yogyakarta or Royal Ambarrukmo hotel.

7 Yogyakarta – Borobudur – Kota Gede – Yogyakarta

After breakfast, guests will visit Borobudur, the largest and most astonishing Buddhist temple complex in the world. The complex was built at the turn of the 8th and 9th centuries, but some time later, shortly after completion, it was abandoned to the jungle in unclear circumstances. It lay forgotten for centuries, covered with layers of volcanic ash. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Then, guests will go to Kota Gede, one of the districts of Yogyakarta, whose inhabitants traditionally produce silver products. Guests will visit one of the workshops here. Overnight stay in a luxury hotel in Yogyakarta.

8 Yogyakarta – Prambanan –- Yogyakarta

The day will start with a tour of Yogyakarta. Guests will visit the Kraton Sultan Palace, an example of traditional Javanese palace architecture. They will then move on to the Water Palace, the extraordinary Masjid Bawah Tanah underground mosque, and the Sonobudoyo museum. After lunch at a local restaurant, you will drive to the 3th century temple complex in Prambanan. Here you will find, among others: XNUMX main temples dedicated to gods belonging to the Hindu trinity. Return to Yogyakarta and overnight stay.

9 Yogyakarta – Makassar

Free time in the morning. After checking out of the hotel, guests will go to the airport and fly to Makassar. Upon arrival, they will be accommodated in the exclusive Aston Makassar or Aryaduta Makassar hotel.

10 Makasar – Pare-Pare – Puncak Lakawang – Tana Toraja

Sightseeing in Makassar. Guests will visit Fort Rotterdam, the La Galigo museum and the old port, before heading to Tana Toraja. They will stop for lunch in Pare-Pare, and in Puncak Lakawang they will enjoy afternoon coffee and admire the wonderful views of the extraordinary surroundings. Upon arrival in Tana Toraja, accommodation and dinner at the exclusive Toraja Misiliana or Toraja Heritage hotel.

11 Toraja

On this day, guests will discover the highland region of Toraja. They will visit Lemo, where sculptures and graves have been carved into the cliff. Then they will go to the ancient burial site in Londa. In Kete Kesu, they will be able to see traditional tongkonan houses, famous wooden carvings and granaries where rice is stored. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Dinner and overnight stay in Tana Toraja.

12 Toraja

Another day in the Toraja highlands. At Batutumonga, guests will enjoy amazing views of Rantepao and numerous valleys. In Lokomata they will see the famous stone graves carved into the mountain wall. The last stop will be Pallawa, the main weaving center in Rantepao. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Return for dinner at the luxury hotel in Tana Toraja.

13 Tana Toraja – Makassar – Denpasar – Sanur

Guests will start their journey back to Makassar. Lunch will be served along the way. They will fly from Makassar airport to Denpasar. A local representative of our exclusive travel agency will greet guests upon arrival at Ngurah Rai Airport and take them to Sanur. Overnight stay at the luxurious Mercure Resort Sanur or Segara Village hotel.

14 Sanur – Ubud – Kintamani – Sanur

During their first day in Bali, guests will visit Ubud and the surrounding area. Here you will see, among others: Goa Gajah ("Elephant Cave"), Gunung Kawi, which is one of the oldest and largest ancient temple complexes on the island, and the Tirta Empul temple. Lunch will be served in the quaint village of Kintamani, where guests will enjoy amazing views of the active volcano Mount Batur. Overnight in Sanur.

15 Sanur – Besakih – Klungkung – Sanur

After breakfast, guests will drive to the slope of Mount Agung and visit the temple complex in Besakih. It is the largest and most important complex of Hindu temples in Bali. Then they will go to Klungkung, where they will visit the Kerta (Kherta) Gosa courthouse, which is characterized by its original architecture. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Overnight in Sanur.

16 Sanur

Free time in the morning and check-out from the hotel. Transfer to the airport.
