Trip plan:

1 Arrival in Sri Lanka

Upon arrival at Colombo Airport, guests will be greeted by the local partner CARTER and go to a luxury hotel.

2 Colombo – Dambulla – Sigiriya

After breakfast, guests will go on an approximately 4-hour drive into the interior of the island. The road to Dambulla will lead through lush tropical jungle, rice fields and banana plantations. Upon arrival, guests will visit the magnificent Golden Temple - the most impressive and most revered Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. The temple, consisting of five caves, has been built since the XNUMXst century BC, and its interior contains well-preserved colorful paintings and statues of Buddha. After lunch, guests will continue their journey to Sigiriya. Accommodation, dinner and overnight stay at the luxurious Hotel Water Garden Sigiriya.

3 Sigiriya

In the morning, guests will go to the foot of the almost 200-meter-high Lion Rock (Sigiriya). This is undoubtedly one of the greatest attractions in Sri Lanka and one of the most recognizable places in the country. At its top there are the ruins of an ancient palace and fortress from the XNUMXth century. Guests will go to the very top, crossing a series of footbridges and steep stairs, admiring amazing rock paintings along the way. In the afternoon they will have the opportunity to take part in one of two optional trips. You can choose from an exclusive safari in the Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park or a visit to the Hurulu Ecological Park, where you can see elephants in their natural habitat. Other guests will be able to relax in the hotel.

4 Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Matale - Kandy

In the morning, after breakfast, guests will depart for Polonnaruwa, the ancient Sinhalese capital from the 10th century. Here you will admire many Buddhist relics and ruins dating back thousands of years. Polonnaruwa developed in the 12th century, when it was decided to move the capital from Anuradhapura, away from the invaders from South India, which is why the ruins here are younger and better preserved than those in Anuradhapura. Guests will see many temples, palaces, huge Buddhist stupas and unusual sculptures. After lunch, they will go to the picturesque city of Kandy, located on a small lake. On the way to Kandy, they will stop at a spice garden near Matale, where they will be able to purchase massage oils, spices and herbs, as well as Ayurvedic medicines. Arrive in Kandy early evening for dinner.

5 Kandy

During their first day in Kandy, guests will visit the Temple of the Tooth, which houses the most important Buddhist relics in Sri Lanka, including the tooth of the Buddha. This is a very important temple for Buddhist followers, visited by hundreds of believers every day. Then, guests will go to a viewing point where there is a huge statue of a seated Buddha. They will also visit the museum of precious stones and the huge botanical garden of Peradeniya, where they will see beautiful specimens of orchids. In the evening, you can take part in a dance show and fire eating.

6 Kandy – Kitulgala – Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast, transfer to Nuwara Eliya, where guests will be able to explore the beautiful colonial town. Nuwara Eliya is a tiny resort town, located among numerous hills and tea plantations. It was founded by the British on the model of a typical English village, hence its nickname - "Little England". There are plenty of English-style houses and parks, and even a golf club and a racecourse. Nuwara Eliya is located at an altitude of 1900 m above sea level, which makes it the highest city in Sri Lanka. After lunch, guests will visit a nearby factory where they will learn about the tea production process. Return to the luxury hotel for dinner.

7 Nuwara Eliya – Horton Plains

Early in the morning, guests will depart for Horton Plains National Park, which is situated on a plateau at an altitude of approximately 2200 m above sea level overlooking Kirigalpotta and Totapola, the 2nd and 3rd highest peaks in Sri Lanka, respectively. The beautiful landscape is best admired during trekking. Guests and their guide will walk through meadows, where, with a bit of luck, they will be able to spot a single-colored sambar (from the deer family) or a purple langur (a species of monkey). They will visit the World's End cliff, one of the most beautiful places on the island. Return to the hotel for dinner.

8 Nuwara Eliya - Yala National Park

After breakfast, guests will be able to explore the beautiful colonial town of Nuwara Eliya on their own. Nuwara Eliya is a tiny resort town, located among numerous hills and tea plantations. 10 -14 Sandy coasts of Sri Lanka

After breakfast, guests will embark on a scenic journey to the coast for a few days of beach relaxation.

15 Departure from Colombo

Breakfast and then transfer to Colombo airport. Flight back to the country.

9 Yala National Park

Visiting Yala National Park. A park with an area of ​​almost 98 mXNUMX. ha is home to elephants, leopards, bears, crocodiles and wild boars. Guests will be able to admire these wild animals during an exciting safari. Overnight at Wild Coast Tented Lodge.
