Thailand – the perfect place for a holiday

Thailand is located in Southeast Asia and is divided into continental and island parts. It consists of 4 main regions - the northern region, the north-eastern region, the central region and the southern region. The central part extends from the mountains that form a natural border with Burma. It has a total of 24 provinces, headed by Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. It is the most developed and richest region, full of rivers: Yom, Wang, Nan, Ping, which merge into the Chao Phraya River, known for its water markets. The region is full of beautiful places rich in history, also of religious importance - Buddhism is the dominant religion in the entire country.

Thailand is rich in unique landscapes: beautiful sandy beaches surrounded by rocks, breathtaking views, mountains covered with dense jungle with waterfalls and colorful cities teeming with life 24 hours a day. Climbing enthusiasts will feel like in paradise here. Some beaches are empty, like Mai Khao Beach, where we can hide in the shade of a palm tree and soak up the solitude. Others are famous, e.g. Railay Beach, where hundreds of tourists come every day to spend at least half a day in a fairy-tale environment. The crowds do not detract from its charm, it is a beauty in itself.

Culturally rich, where you can admire ancient ruins and numerous images of Buddha. Thailand has many places that have been included on the UNESCO cultural heritage list, including: historic city of Ayutthaya. Temples, waterfalls and beautiful caves are just a taste of what awaits us next. For those looking for adventure, I recommend Khao Sok National Park with a beautiful lake and trekking paths. Yes! Yes! Thailand is not only about fabulous beaches and blissful laziness. Stunning nature and wildlife surrounded by a landscape untouched by tourism is the opposite of the ultra-modern shopping malls you will see when visiting Bangkok. It is a country famous for the best massages in the world and is undoubtedly a destination increasingly chosen for its SPA, Wellness and biological regeneration programs. Here you will find many luxury hotels and private villas with full services. Everything according to your preferences.

Thailand is a place where everyone will find something for themselves - perfect for a family holiday or a romantic trip just for two. It is an excellent selection of culinary specialties, cultural icons and a place for a luxurious holiday or an amazing journey that will provide adventures and unforgettable experiences.

Speaking of cuisine, you will find here a mixture of cuisines from all over the world and restaurants of the most popular chefs with Michelin stars, although the first thing that comes to mind is usually street food, incredibly fresh and juicy fruit - one of the most delicious species of yellow mango in the world, a wealth of freshly caught fish and seafood. Thailand is simply a culinary paradise for everyone, even the most demanding palate.

Due to its huge area, which covers several climatic zones, Thailand is an almost year-round destination. When the monsoon season comes in the south of Krabi or Phuket during our summer, the perfect time to relax is on the third largest island - Koh Samui and two neighboring islands - Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, which provide excellent diving conditions and are famous for being located near the Marine Water Park. In the north of Thailand, around Chiang Mai and Chiang Paradise, the climate is milder.

The most important places in Thailand and attractions you must see

1. Bangkok – the capital

Bangkok, called the "City of Angels", is mysterious and delights with a variety of contrasts. Situated at the mouth of the Main River and the Gulf of Thailand, it is a place of fascinating history, rich in golden, elaborate temples, set against the backdrop of a bustling, modern city. There is a very long list of attractions to see and things to do during the day and at night, when the city lights highlight its charms. This colorful place could be a destination in itself, but it will also be a great ending to a trip around Thailand or the first point of the route.

Here you will find elegant shopping malls with luxury products from the world's best brands, crowded street stalls, the complete opposite, and Chatuchak market, the largest in Bangkok, where you can buy literally everything. It is an eclectic art scene, cultural diversity and a feast for gourmets with the most demanding palates. In Bangkok we have a wide selection of both world-famous international restaurants and delicious street food that attracts fans of Asian cuisine. This is just the beginning of what awaits visitors to the capital of Thailand, which is literally addictive.

Bangkok has become one of the most interesting and popular capitals in Asia. It is a dynamically developing megalopolis with shiny skyscrapers, hedonistic shopping malls, luxury hotels, as well as a rich history and colorful culture. In addition to private transfers in luxury limousines, there is excellent public transport, but the most popular are colorful tuk-tuks, which are an incredible attraction and can often provide adrenaline. Anyone who has had the opportunity to experience such a ride at dizzying speed will probably confirm that it is a MUST BE, and besides, it is the best option to avoid getting stuck in traffic jams. This city of eight million inhabitants stretches in all directions and getting around it may seem quite complicated at the beginning, so for the first trip it is best to hire a private guide who will show you around the city, and the next day in a comfortable car will take you on a trip to Ayuttjaji, where you can admire the complex of ancient temples and palaces, which are undoubtedly impressive.

The Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha are one of the symbols of Bangkok. Interesting decorations, gold, colorful figurines and precious stones combined with original architecture create the impression that we were transported to another land and probably everyone who visited Bangkok has photos from there. This is such a MUST SEE. West of the Royal Palace, along the river, we find ourselves in the colorful Chinatown. Another attraction that should not be missed is Wat Pho, which houses a majestic statue of the Reclining Buddha, 46 m long, entirely covered with gold. His feet alone are 4,5m long. It must be admitted that it is impressive.

The famous Buddhist temple is War Arun - the Temple of Shivtu, which is best admired at sunset. The view is phenomenal, and for the most persistent, we recommend a night cruise on the Chao Praya River, combined with a show of professional dancers and an exclusive dinner in the glow of light.

When traveling with the youngest, we recommend going to the Dusit Zoo, and for fans of nightlife, for a cocktail at one of the famous rooftop bars. Probably everyone will be familiar with the one on the roof of the Lebua at State Tower hotel, where one of the popular comedy films was recorded.

2. Koh Samui

Located in the southern part of the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui and Koh Phangan are among the most popular islands in Thailand, visited by crowds of tourists from all over the world. Their popularity is determined by wonderful, sandy beaches, an almost year-round season and a rich hotel and catering offer.

Koh Samui, the third largest island in Thailand, has more high-end hotels than Koh Phangan, which is a destination mainly for backpackers and tourists with smaller budgets. The easiest way to get to Koh Samui is by ferry from Surat Thani or by plane - there is an international airport on the island. The biggest attractions include wide, sandy beaches surrounded by palm groves: Hat Chaweng, Hat Lamai, Hat Pho But. Lovers of picturesque sunsets must see Hat Maenam and Hat Bang Rak, located in the north of the island, in a quiet and idyllic area. In the central part of the island, which consists of hills covered with rainforest, you can find many charming waterfalls, such as Na Mueang, Hin Lat or Khun Si. When describing Koh Samui, it is impossible not to mention the famous Hin Ta and Hin Yai rocks (from Thai: grandfather and grandmother), whose shape resembles female and male sexual organs. The rocks are located at the southern end of Hat Lamai Beach, which is one of the most photographed places on the island.

3. Koh phangan

Koh Phangan is located approximately 10 km north of Koh Samui. The easiest way to get to the tram is by ferry or motorboat. Phangan is almost half the size of Samui, more intimate and aimed mainly at young tourists who like nightlife. The event that advertised the island practically all over the world is the Fool Moon Party - a series of all-night events held once a month on the Hat Rin beach, which can gather up to several thousand people. There are plenty of bungalows and hotels in the area to suit virtually every budget, as well as restaurants serving international and local cuisine and typical fast food. The northern part of the island is characterized by a sleepier climate typical of fishing villages. The most beautiful beach on the island - Thong Nai Pan - is also located there. Also worth visiting is Than Sadet - an impressive waterfall located in the middle of the rainforest.

Although there are plenty of good diving and snorkeling spots around Koh Samui and Phangan, if you want to fully appreciate the underwater beauty, you should go to Koh Tao, an island located 40 km northwest of Phangan. Beautiful reefs, high water transparency, abundance of marine flora and fauna, as well as deserted beaches make Koh Tao attract more tourists every year, but it has still not lost its natural character and lazy atmosphere. In Mea Hat, the only town on the island, there are several diving centers organizing trips for experienced and beginner divers. Another interesting place is Koh Nang Yuan - a miniature archipelago of islands connected by sandy causeways located off the coast of Koh Tao. Azure water, golden sand and lush green vegetation make Nang Yuan's beaches often considered the most beautiful in the world.

People who like to spend their time actively should reserve one day to visit Muko Ang Thong Marine National Park. It is an archipelago of 42 paradise islands and limestone outliers covered with a green blanket of tropical vegetation. The park is best visited on a one-day trip from Koh Samui or Phang Nga, which also includes swimming in the hidden Koh Meak Ko lagoon. It is possible to organize accommodation in the park, which will allow you to enjoy the empty beaches at sunset and sunrise, as well as leisurely explore fabulous places by kayak.

4. Phuket

The island of Phuket is approximately 180 km from Krabi province and you can get there by either a luxury limousine with a private driver or an exclusive boat. Charming villages, coconut plantations, beautiful nature are the landscape of this place, sometimes mistakenly associated with the city of Phuket itself, which is quite crowded and devoid of charm. Phuket has kilometers of beautiful beaches, almost empty, such as Mai Khao located in the north, stretching for about 13 km. It is an oasis of peace, an ideal place for a quiet holiday, relaxation or a romantic holiday just for two, surrounded by the jungle covering the Sirinath National Park. If you're lucky, you can see huge turtles during the breeding season from December to February.

The beach that is particularly delightful is Kata Beach, the views of which are worth admiring from the Karon View Point.

Bang Tao is one of the golden sand beaches that attracts families for a luxurious and safe holiday with children. There are some of the most exclusive hotels in Phuket, such as Aman, Rosewood, Anantara, Trisara and Banyan Tree. On the wild island of Koh Yao Noi there is one of the best Six Senses hotels.

While relaxing on the beach, it is worth taking advantage of Thai massages, but there are also many other attractions on the island of Phuket, including national parks. One of them is Khao Phra Taeo, where wild pigs live, and on its outskirts there are 2 noteworthy waterfalls. It is worth going to the town of Ao Po, where there are numerous pearl farms.

North of Phuket is Khao Sok National Park - probably the oldest rainforest in the world, which delights and attracts everyone once again. At its heart, surrounded by beautiful nature and wild nature and rocks, is Cheow Lan Lake. There are no luxury hotels here yet and it may stay that way, but if you are in the north of Phuket, it is worth going on a private trip with a professional guide who will choose a safe trekking route. Adventure lovers can stay here in bamboo overwater bungalows and float on the grass along the Choew Lan River. Sunrises and sunsets there are priceless.

5. Crabi

Taking a comfortable, private transfer from Phuket east towards Krabi, the landscape is heavenly, and along the way you can admire the charms of Phang Nga Bay. It consists of about 40 small islands located literally in the middle of the sea, surrounded by lagoons, caves and mangrove forests. It is worth visiting Phang Ng Bay, but with a private guide so as not to miss anything.

Krabi is both a region and the name of a city where you will not find luxury hotels. The most popular beach here is undoubtedly Raila Beach, which attracts crowds of tourists and is surrounded on one side by the Rayavadee Beach Hotel Resort & Spa, in whose garden you will find about 300 species of plants. Everyone in their room will find a detailed map of what they can find where while walking around the beautiful and perfectly well-kept gardens.

During your dream vacation in these regions, we recommend going on private cruises on luxury yachts or catamarans, among others, to Silon Island or the much more touristic Phi Phi Ilsand, which you will get to know from this charming side during an individual tour with a private guide. Snorkeling, feeding the fish with watermelon and a private boat with a glass of champagne will certainly make your vacation more pleasant.

6. Golden Triangle

In Southeast Asia, the combined forces of Burma, Laos and Thailand (and some sources also mention China) create the so-called The Golden Triangle, the main source of opium internationally, which is why it got its name. The largest amount of poppies in the world is grown in the fields of Burma.

The Golden Triangle boasts a large area, covering an area larger than Poland, as much as 350 square kilometers. The famous Chiang Rai with its stunning White Temple gives the impression that we are in another world. The famous Ruak and Mekong rivers, which divide Thailand, Burma and Laos, also flow through here. Their beautiful panorama seen from above shows the majesty and power of nature. Staying and colliding with the reality of people living on the territory of these three borders is also an extraordinary experience. It is worth mentioning the Anantara Golden Triangle and Four Seasons Tented Camp hotels, from which we will be able to admire the clash of three countries and, interestingly, they are located near an elephant sanctuary. Walking with giants is an amazing and unforgettable experience. Watching elephants bathing in the Chao Phraya River stays in your memory for a long time and brings a smile to your face.

The journey by private limousine to Chiang Mai, approximately 180 km away, takes approximately 3 hours and is extremely pleasant. Another travel option is a short internal flight, but we encourage you to This city is literally filled with temples and, like Chiang Rai, is famous for its very popular night markets. The flavors, smells and freshness of local products will satisfy even the most demanding palates.

There are 7 ethnic groups living in the nearby mountains, and some of them are divided into even smaller ones. However, each of these groups has its own language, customs and religion, and most of them are animists, believing in gods and spirits, and worshiping animals and plants. Their life depends on agriculture, although the last few years have changed this mode, focusing more on tourism.

In Sop Ruak, which is usually reached by kayak or fast boat, you must go for an unforgettable walk, viewing the river from above, and visit the local bazaar where you will find gems of handicrafts from the island of Don Sao, which belongs to Laos. Let yourself be embraced by the oldest city in Thailand, Chiang Sean, with its impressive temples and stunning sunsets, where local residents usually gather to contemplate their majesty with their families. After an eventful day, it is worth relaxing in the lake of the same name as the city, admiring the dance of water birds.

You can also visit the night market on Walking Street and visit the historic Buddhist temple from the 13th century - Wat Pa Sak - which is not only magical, but also wonderfully preserved. Wat Chiang Man or Wat Phra That Chedi Luang are other temples worth visiting. Taking a journey to distant Buddhist times, Wat Phra That Ngao will also provide us with an unforgettable experience with its Golden Buddha, carved in the Sukhothai style, from which we can enjoy spectacular views of the river and mountains. There are also many attractions waiting for us in the city of Mae Sai, located on the most important border crossing with Burma, and the first thing that catches the eye is the small influx of tourists.

The main attraction, apart from visiting the bustling market, walking along the main street, or crossing the bridge over the Sai River to Tachileik in Burma, is admiring the temple and their phenomenal views. Among them, the most outstanding are Wat Phra That Doi Tung, immersed in dense vegetation on the top of Monte Doi Tung, near which there is a unique terrace overlooking the Golden Triangle, and the Thamphajoen temple, located in the inner part of the valley.

7. Hua Hin and Cha-Am

Hua Hin is located on the Gulf of Thailand, approximately 200 kilometers south of Bangkok. This place is famous for its several-kilometer-long beach, a great night market and golf courses. Hua Hin is a beach resort popular among the local population and quite developed in terms of tourism; the coastline is rich in good hotels and resorts ideal for vacation in Thailand. The oldest seaside resort in Thailand was once a sprawling fishing village. Since there are better beaches on the surrounding islands, the town does not attract crowds, which is a big advantage of Hua Hin. The night market has a great atmosphere, a cheerful bustle and plenty of bars and places serving fish and seafood.

Hua Hin is also a good base for a full-day trip to the National Park Khao Sam Roi Yot, located an hour's drive south of the resort. There are six golf courses in the area, including the famous Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, making Hua Hin one of the best places to... golf vacation in Thailand and throughout Southeast Asia. Hua Hin is home to one of the beautiful royal palaces from the early 20th century. Visitors to the resort are mainly wealthy Thais from Bangkok and expats living in the capital. The current ruler of the country also spends... Hua Hin a lot of time.
