Istria Peninsula – holidays in Croatia

Istria is a peninsula located in the north of the Adriatic Sea and Croatia. The region is full of attractions for even the most demanding travelers. Both lovers of active trips and those who want to relax by the sea will find their place here. It is a place that can boast both picturesque towns on hills and charming seaside resorts. An additional advantage is the fact that you can get here by car without any problems and within a reasonable time.

Istria – what is worth visiting?

Particularly worth visiting are the towns of Motovun, Rovinj, Pula and Hum, which has only about 30 inhabitants and is considered the smallest town in the world.

Motovun is a city that delights, especially when viewed from a distance. Its houses stretch on a hill with a majestic fortress on top. The unique atmosphere in the town itself is provided by atmospheric, cobbled streets, colorful houses and, above all, a beautiful panorama of mountains and greenery spreading around.

However, holidays in Croatia are famous primarily for their stay at the seaside. When in Istria, you cannot fail to visit Pula. Here you will find, among others: a huge, awe-inspiring amphitheater that, when seen from a bird's eye view, looks phenomenal compared to the much smaller buildings neighboring it. The city also hides many other valuable monuments, has a beautiful seaside promenade and nearby paradise beaches with turquoise water. The city's location also encourages you to embark on a luxurious cruise along the entire coast of this beautiful country.

Slightly north of Pula is Rovinj, which many call the Croatian Saint Tropez, as it is an ideal place for an exclusive holiday. Others, due to the Italian influence, sometimes compare it to Venice. Initially existing as an islet, the city was soon attached to the mainland and is now one of the biggest tourist attractions and probably the most beautiful town on the peninsula.

Lošinj Island - an island in Croatia

The island of Lošinj is located south of the Istrian peninsula. Together with Cres, it once formed one of the largest islands in the Adriatic Sea. They were separated to facilitate the flow of water transport - today they are only connected by a bridge. The most popular, lively town on the island is Mali Lošinj, located in the southern part of Lošinj, in Augusti Bay.

Lošinj is the perfect place for a paradise vacation in a peaceful environment. The island has a diverse terrain, many hills, and in the surrounding area there are beautiful beaches and charming islets. There is no better way to relax in luxury than a cruise around the Croatian islands, especially since it is in this area that you can most often see dolphins swimming at sea.

Luxury holidays in the north of Croatia

The Istrian Peninsula and the neighboring island of Lošinj are the best destination if you are considering a holiday in Croatia by car. Due to the multitude of attractions, the region is recommended to both families with children and couples, as it has many romantic spots.
