Mamula Island

The first and only hotel on the island took its name from the Austro-Hungarian general Lazar Mamuli from Croatia. The previously uninhabited islet is a short boat ride from Herceg Novi in ​​Montenegro and the Croatian coast. Opened just a few months ago, Mamula Island is a member of Design Hotels, which has breathed new life into the former fortress while paying tribute to its past.

After years of renovation, today we can stay in functional rooms and apartments in a contemporary style. Guests will find a glass courtyard, a memorial gallery, three restaurants, four bars, three outdoor swimming pools and a hotel beach. The resort draws inspiration from the dominant motif of the arch, which symbolizes strength, but also renewal and hospitality, which is why arches appear in many interiors.

Additionally, the hotel is built with local materials such as local Cevsky stone, aged brass, solid oak and breathable, organic fabrics that pay homage to tradition while feeling modern and durable.

In addition, local artists, on special order, created works that draw on the island's landscape, combining earthy tones with light pastels. The hotel will offer a holistic spa, a well-being program, and we will be able to immerse ourselves in a French-Canadian culinary journey in the kitchen of the chef Erica Archambault.
