Malta, i.e. year-round holidays

Malta is a small country at the very tip of Southern Europe, which, thanks to its location, provides tourists with pleasant weather and fantastic holiday conditions 365 days a year. The archipelago of the Maltese Islands is located in the center of the Mediterranean Sea and consists of three main islands, i.e. Malta, Gozo and Comino, and several smaller ones. Each has a lot of interesting attractions to offer, not only for people who prefer a quiet holiday on a beautiful beach or exclusive cruises around the area, but also for those who love to walk, sightsee, explore and learn about foreign cultures.

Malta – what is worth visiting?

While in Malta, you cannot fail to visit the so-called open-air museum, i.e. the unique Valletta, which was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List and in 2018 was named the European Capital of Culture. This small city has over 300 monuments from various historical periods. However, the charm of Valletta also lies in its atmospheric streets, colorful houses and balconies, the sound of the sea and beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Mdina, which was once the capital of Malta, is even more impressive. Inhabited by only a few hundred people and isolated from street traffic, it was called the Silent City. There is a unique atmosphere and delightful silence interrupted only by the rustle of trees and the sounds of birds. All this makes it impossible to stop admiring the majesty of this place.

The island is also rich in unique works of nature. We will find there, among others: one of the highest cliffs in Europe, or the famous Blue Grotto, and on the smaller island of Comino also the beautiful Blue Lagoon - an ideal place for a luxurious cruise and a wonderful swim in crystal clear water.

Gozo – the most beautiful attractions

The second largest island in the archipelago is Gozo, which travelers can easily get to by ferry. This corner is full of charming towns with sand-colored buildings, which gives the island a unique atmosphere. The island also offers breathtaking views. The mighty sea and unique rock formations have created unique places such as the Wied il-Mielah window, the Inner Sea - a salt lake slightly connected to the Mediterranean Sea, or the so-called Blue Hole, a fantastic and unique underwater cave diving site.

In Gozo there is also an extremely interesting archaeological site of Ggantija, where one of the oldest buildings in the world is located - mysterious megalithic temples included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Another interesting attraction are the Xwejni salt pans, where the locals get their salt.

Assuming active sightseeing, it can be completed even in one day.

Family holidays in Malta and Gozo

Malta is an ideal destination for a holiday with a child. The biggest attractions will be swimming in the hotel's beautiful swimming pools with warm water and refreshing baths in the turquoise water of the Mediterranean Sea, washing the coasts of Malta and Gozo.

Charming, sandy beaches, blue sea, interesting monuments, interesting attractions for children, quite close to Poland, and, above all, wonderful, sunny weather both in spring and autumn - these are the undeniable advantages of Malta that make it perfect for family holidays.

In spring and autumn, we will see fewer visitors in Malta than in the high season, and the temperatures are still very pleasant, around 25-28 degrees. An inexpensive and interesting way to visit the capital of Malta with children can be a tourist train. During a more than half-hour tour through the streets of Valletta, you will see the greatest attractions in the city. The cost of the trip is only EUR 5 per adult and EUR 3 per child. Similar tourist trains, perfect for visiting Malta with children, can also be found in two other cities: Mdina and Bugibba.

The biggest attractions for families with children include: BOV Adventure Park, ESPLORA Science Center, Duck Vilage, a bird paradise on Manoela Island, Mediterraneo water park, Popeye Village and the National Aquarium of Malta (Maltese Oceanarium). )

Popeye Village is a children's hit in Malta and one of the most iconic places on the island. Popeye Village was created for the film and can still be admired in Anchor Bay today. The Water Park in Bugibba offers free attractions for children in the form of swimming pools, water cannons and splash tanks.

For the most demanding travelers with slightly older children, a luxury option may be renting a yacht for the whole day, with snorkeling and diving equipment. The sea around Malta is full of amazing wrecks and spectacular scenery.
