Badrutt's Palace Hotel, St. Moritz

The history of the exclusive Badrutt's Palace Hotel is fascinating. It was built already in 1872 as St. Moritz Hotel Beau Rivage, and a few years later purchased by the Badrutt family, who in 1896 ordered its reconstruction and name change. A curling surface and the world's first toboggan run were also prepared, thus beginning the era of winter tourism. The luxurious atmosphere attracted, among others, Alfred Hitchcock, who visited the luxury hotel as many as 34 times. It was here that he began working on his outstanding works: "The Man Who Knew Too Much" and "The Birds".
