Ischia – what is worth seeing?

The island of Ischia belongs to the archipelago of the Phlegrean Islands and is located in the Gulf of Naples in the Tyrrhenian Sea, very close to the capital of Campania - Naples. There is a dormant volcanic complex on the island that is considered by some to be extremely powerful. As a result of one of the ancient eruptions, the extremely picturesque Mount Epomeo, characteristic of the island today, was created. Ischia delights with its white houses, Mediterranean climate, azure water and beautiful views. A place particularly worth visiting is the majestic Aragonese Castle on a nearby islet, which can be reached via a bridge built especially for this purpose. From the walls of this centuries-old castle there is a phenomenal panorama of the island.

Hot springs - a natural SPA rich in minerals

The highest peak on the island is an extinct volcano, Mount Epomeo, 789 m above sea level, from the top of which tourists can see the entire Bay of Naples, and even Naples. Epomeo was formed as a result of a volcanic eruption, but has no active craters. Its slopes are dotted with picturesque vineyards that add variety to travelers' ascent to the peak.
