It's time to start your holidays in Norway!

Why is it worth visiting Norway?

Norway is a country located in the northern part of Europe. Together with Sweden and Finland, it forms the Scandinavian Peninsula, characterized by unique relief. Almost 2/3 of Norway's surface is covered by mountains, which makes it an ideal place to travel in both winter and summer. Luxurious holidays in Norway will satisfy enthusiasts of skiing and hiking. Perhaps the most characteristic element of the Norwegian landscape are the spectacular fjords, which can be admired during trekking, as well as from the water level during a boat cruise. The longest of them, Sognefjorden, stretches for over 200 km and its maximum depth is estimated at 1300 meters. Not far from the mouth of Sognefjorden lies Bergen, one of Norway's most popular cities, called the "Gateway to the Fjords". Due to its location and historic architecture, it was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Norway also has over 50 islands. The most famous archipelago is probably the picturesque Lofoten, straight out of Nordic mythology. It is not difficult to imagine Viking ships sailing between rocky peaks protruding from the Atlantic like the teeth of the mythical Fenrir. Lofoten is a paradise for sailing fanatics, kayaking trips, helicopter flights, as well as sea fishing - in the coastal waters you can catch halibut or cod.

The islands around Allesund look equally fabulous. Connected by numerous bridges, they form the Atlantic Route, considered one of the most beautiful scenic routes in the world. Moreover, Norway has beautiful communication routes, as the famous Troll Road cannot be denied its picturesque nature. "Trollstigen" consists of 11 serpentines, bending at an angle of 180 degrees. Interestingly, there is probably the only "Beware Trolls" sign in the world next to it.

When describing Norway, it is impossible not to mention the far north. The cities of Narvik and Tromso lie above the Arctic Circle. The former is the northernmost European port that does not freeze in winter. All thanks to the influence of the warm Gulf Stream. Narvik is a good base for exploring the Lofoten Islands, while from Tromso, the seventh largest city in the country, we can get to the northern tip of Norway (Nordkapp). There is a viewing point on an impressive cliff from which you can admire the stormy waters of the Barents Sea.

Even further north lies the Svalbard archipelago. Its largest island, Spitsbergen, is a popular destination for research expeditions and a real treat for fans of active tourism. The season on Spitsbergen lasts all year round, but it must be remembered that for almost six months there is a polar night, when the sun does not appear above the horizon 3 hours a day. Svalbard will satisfy all lovers of rugged mountains and wild nature. The island is a habitat for a population of over XNUMX polar bears, reindeer and arctic foxes. In summer, cruises are organized on the Barents Sea; Sperm whales, killer whales, dolphins, walruses and beluga whales live in the waters surrounding Svalbard. In the winter, dog sledding trips are a popular entertainment.

Winters in Svalbard, despite its location in the Arctic, are not as cold as one might expect, due to the Gulf Stream flowing around the islands, the same one that reaches the port of Narvik. The entire northern Norway, regardless of whether we are talking about the green taiga or the harsh tundra, is perfect for observing the northern lights.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that Norway is a country with a really wide accommodation base and a well-connected network of air connections. We can get from Poland to Norway on board both scheduled flights and low-cost airlines, depending on the customer's preferences.

Individual trips to Norway: by helicopter, with a driver or self-drive?

In the most luxurious version, an office CARTER offers helicopter tours directly from Poland. Our guests, together with a Polish-speaking pilot, will go on an unforgettable journey; they will fly over the waters of the Baltic Sea and the next day they will start exploring the spectacular land of Thor from the air.

Other extremely comfortable ways to explore Norway include traveling by rented car with a private driver and guide, and exclusive yacht and boat charters. In Ålesund
we offer multi-day fjord trips on board a luxury yacht and a wide selection of one-day trips on board smaller boats.

Norway is also an ideal place for fishing and traversing endless wilderness on cross-country skis. Heli-skiing is also characteristic of these areas due to the multitude of pristine peaks, and an extremely interesting form of relaxation is staying in luxurious lodges located in the middle of nowhere, in the inaccessible taiga or on a deserted coast. There, all activities, such as the above-mentioned fishing, dog sledding trips and Santa Claus-style trips on a sleigh pulled by reindeer, exploration of the area on snowmobiles and evening games by the bonfire, are included in the price of the stay.
