Hotel Union Øye

Open from late April to mid-December, Hotel Union Oye is considered one of the most unique on the continent. It boasts a location in one of the narrowest Norwegian valleys, famous for its unique landscapes and cultural attractions. The luxurious Hotel Union Oye has been offering its top-class services since 1891. Since then, it has been visited by important politicians, musicians and writers, including: by such personalities as Kaiser Wilhelm, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Edward Grieg, Henrik Ibsen and Roald Amundsen. Each room, decorated with antique furniture, was named after one of the distinguished guests. Delicious dishes composed by the chef using local, seasonal products can be enjoyed in the dining room or in beautiful natural surroundings. The region is a real paradise for hiking enthusiasts. You can go to many peaks, the path to which leads through areas untouched by human hands. The biggest challenge will be climbing Slogen (1564 m above sea level). During the full-day expedition, guests will be amazed by the views and beauty of the fjords and snow-covered peaks of the Sunnmøre Alps. The luxury hotel can arrange the assistance of a local guide. Another idea is a bike trip to Lyngstøylvatnet, where you can see the remains of a farm by the lake. It is also worth visiting the area around Geirangerfjorden, a 20-kilometer section of which has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. While traveling, guests will come across abandoned farms, which are proof that the inhabitants were able to adapt to difficult conditions over the centuries. Of course, you can also go kayaking (alone or with a guide) and observe nature from the lake level. Skiing enthusiasts will love visiting the Stranda resort with beautiful views of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
