Arctic Retreat

In the Rane River Valley in Swedish Lapland there is a boutique lodge called Arctic Retreat. The location in the middle of the wild Swedish forest is a guarantee of rest and relaxation for all wildlife lovers, and on cloudless nights there is a huge probability of seeing the Northern Lights. Guests will enjoy the friendly hospitality of the staff, tasty local cuisine and lots of interesting stories served around the bonfire. This place is recommended for both couples and families with children.

Arctic Retreat consists of three cottages called Wind, Sun and Water. Each of them is built of wooden logs, so you can feel the smell of wood inside, and the front wall is entirely glass to enhance the impression of communing with nature. The houses are decorated in a local style and have a small fireplace that makes cold winter evenings more pleasant. A straight staircase leads upstairs to the bedroom with a double bed, and downstairs there is a bathroom with a shower.

A huge advantage of staying at the lodge is the huge variety of activities and trips waiting for guests. Snowmobile rides, dog sledding, or visits to the village with Lars Eriksson's family, who will talk with great passion about reindeer herding and life in this rather harsh scenery, are just the tip of the iceberg. Fans of folklore and experiences full of local color should try fishing in the ice hole, take lessons in cooking traditional dishes, and go for a walk in snowshoes, during which a local guide will talk about the flora and fauna of the region. After a day of intense excitement, it is worth taking a hot bath in the jacuzzi and sauna.
