Holidays in the Maldives are, above all, unforgettable experiences

The Maldives is an archipelago of over a thousand islands, which are part of 26 coral atolls in the Indian Ocean. This island country is situated on an underwater volcanic chain and has an exceptionally low terrain - the highest elevations are about 5 m above sea level. For this reason, due to global warming and melting glaciers, the country faces a huge threat of flooding. The Maldives is a paradise that guarantees blissful relaxation in beautiful surroundings and a successful holiday. In addition to relaxing on the beach and swimming in crystal clear water, snorkeling and diving are particularly recommended on the islands, which provide phenomenal views of the underwater world, and here and there also impressive shipwrecks. For those who prefer active leisure, resorts offer a range of services, such as water sports or sightseeing on neighboring islands. For couples, we recommend going on a romantic sunset cruise, during which you may be able to see dolphins, as well as an atmospheric picnic on a deserted island.

Travel to the Maldives – what is worth remembering?

The Maldives is a tiny island country with approximately 1200 islands. The capital of the Maldives is Male, which is also considered the smallest capital in the world (its area is approximately 2 km long and 1 km wide). The region's main airport, which serves international flights, is also located here. In addition, on the southern island of Gan there is also an airport of the same name, from which we can fly to Sri Lanka with local airlines.

  • The official language of the Maldives is Maldivian, but apart from that there is no problem communicating in English with the local population, especially because the country was once under British rule.
  • Poles do not need visas to this country, All you need is a passport. An important thing to remember is that it is not possible to import alcohol into the country - it is prohibited due to the fact that it is a Muslim country.
  • The currency in the Maldives is the Maldivian rupee, but the fact that we can pay in US dollars throughout the country will certainly be useful.

In the Maldives, as in any paradise, time passes faster - and we all know this from our own experience, but if we are interested in the current time in the Maldives, we should add 3 hours to the Polish summer time.

How to get to the Maldives?

This is a question most of our clients ask themselves. Our offer is a combined trip from Warsaw, for example via Dubai, Doha, Frankfurt or Sri Lanka. Flights are operated by Qatar, Emirates and Lufthansa.

On the Maldivian islands, the temperature is quite constant and ranges from 26 to 30 degrees Celsius, but due to the rainy season, the best travel dates are the European winter, i.e. around December-March.

Holidays in the Maldives – houses on the water or villas on the beach?

Many travelers probably wonder which accommodation option will be more suitable. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, just for two, accommodation in a water bungalow will meet all your expectations of a paradise vacation. Many of the five-star hotels in the Maldives archipelago offer special packages for honeymooners, usually stays in villas on stilts on the ocean. In turn, if you are going on holiday in the Maldives with small children, villas located on the beach are recommended for safety reasons. Villas right by the sea with a garden and gently shelving beach are a real paradise and the youngest children will certainly appreciate it. Many of the best hotels in the Maldives have great facilities for families, including baby cots and plenty of water toys and gadgets for the little ones. The Maldives is one of the most unique holiday destinations in the world. No matter which accommodation option you choose, it will provide you with incredible emotions and blissful relaxation.

Holidays for active people and holidays under palm trees

Postcard landscapes, wonderful coral reefs, clear turquoise water, fabulous white beaches with soft sand are a guarantee of a successful holiday. However, trips to these paradise islands are not only about relaxing with a drink by the pool or on the beach. The Maldives is an ideal trip destination for those who love distant, exotic places, but quickly get bored just lying on the beach. You can spend time on the islands differently every day - from practicing morning yoga or jogging, through training with an individual instructor, snorkeling, to diving or extreme water sports such as water skiing, jet skis or kitesurfing.

If you are interested in active recreation, it is best to choose one of the hotels with water sports facilities. Guests will have kayaks, diving equipment, surfboards, pedal boats, banana rides and many other gadgets at their disposal, such as mini submarines and catamarans. If you are passionate about golf, it is worth staying at the Velaa Private Island hotel with a 6-hole golf course designed by Jose Maria Olazabala and a golf academy. Nine tees, seven bunkers, six greens, and a pond offer great conditions for training in a paradise setting. Qualified PGA staff provides professional support for golfers, both beginners and at advanced levels, golf lessons in the Maldives will be an unusual experience; the balls are made of dried organic mass, which is environmentally friendly. The elite Velaa Private Island is one of the most expensive hotels in the Maldives; it is an oasis of luxury for guests with the thickest wallets.

The Maldives has many hotels that offer tennis courts. The best tennis courts, also illuminated, can be found in Bandos Maldives, Cheval Blanc, One&Only Reethi Rah and Four Seasons hotels. Larger islands and hotels such as Six Senses Laamu, Kanifushi and Hurawalhi offer their own bicycle rentals.

Private villas and tours for those looking for unique experiences

We will be especially pleased to prepare this unique trip of a lifetime for you, regardless of whether you want to stay in a villa on the water,
a residence on the beach or a bungalow with a private pool in the middle of a palm jungle. Uniquely designed individual trips to the Maldives meet the expectations of the most demanding customers. It's hard to believe, but a holiday in the Maldives archipelago will always provide you with wonderful experiences. Unique designer villas, exquisite cuisine, Michelin-starred chefs, an amazing SPA with cosmetics from world brands such as Clarins and Bvlgari, that's not all. Evening performances, live music and well-stocked bars will make your holiday in the Maldives an annual dream come true. Trips to the Maldives are the embodiment of the fantasy of a wonderful vacation in paradise.

Paradise Honeymoons and Honeymoon

The Maldives has several dozen 5* hotels of a very high standard, which offer attractive packages and discounts for newlyweds. This will make the young couple feel special. The best All Inclusive hotels for honeymooners are 6* Kudadoo on a private island, 5* Hurawalhi Island Resort, or Adaaran Prestige. The most romantic hotels in the world await couples in love, and for the most demanding - luxury without limits. The Maldives is not only about the beach and 'sweet doing nothing', for those looking for activities, we recommend catamaran charter, wonderful SPA treatments, optional trips to pristine islands, feeding rays, diving, kitesurfing or lessons in making delicious cocktails based on natural ingredients. If you love organic products and vegetarian dishes, we recommend staying in the following hotels in the Maldives: Ayada, Soneva Fushi and the ultra-luxurious Huvafen Fushi.

What are the most popular optional trips in the Maldives?

Travelers who love freedom and diversity will certainly appreciate the rich hotel base on hundreds of islands in the Maldives archipelago. From the moment you land on Male, you will feel the uniqueness and exclusivity of this place. The aura of inaccessibility and prestige act as a magnet for demanding travelers from all over the world. A fantastic solution is to spend your holiday in 2-3 different hotels, on 2 different atolls, thanks to which you will get to know different coral reefs and see the islands from a bird's eye view. Another transfer option in the Maldives is by luxury seaplane or private speedboat.

Travel by private plane to the Maldives

If budget is not an issue and you are looking for a truly unique experience, it is worth considering the highest forms of hotel accommodation in the Maldives. These are usually extremely spacious presidential villas and apartments, with an area of several hundred square meters, with several bedrooms and a private butler service for your exclusive use. The Maldives is an ideal destination to fly to by your own plane. Such a trip can be combined with a stop in Dubai for a shopping spree or watching The Pearl show. If you would like a quote for an individual flight on a privately chartered jet, do not hesitate and contact the office CARTER® travel@carter.eu. Safe holidays in the Maldives and child-friendly hotels are the specialty of your best travel agency CARTER®.

How much does a trip to the Maldives cost?
