Travel from Istanbul to Paris, 5 nights

Istanbul

Luxury Travel invites guests on an epic, six-day journey to Paris aboard the luxury train Venice Simplon-Orient Express. This journey is organized only once a year and combines a journey on the luxury train Venice Simplon-Orient Express and stays in elegant hotels in Bucharest and Budapest. The Orient Express takes passengers not only on a romantic journey in space - from the colorful, oriental Istanbul to the romantic capital of France - but also in time - to the times when traveling by train was a completely different experience, aristocratic, cultural - it was simply a journey of a lifetime. Our guests will travel through seven countries in unparalleled style. And they will be accompanied by extraordinary service, exquisite meals and wines, perfectly planned sightseeing and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. After leaving Istanbul, the train will travel through Turkey and Bulgaria, arriving the next day in Bucharest, where guests will spend one night in a 5-star hotel. Then the train will take them to Budapest, where they will also spend the night in a luxury hotel. The next day the train majestically glides through the vineyards and forests of Hungary to Lake Balaton, where we will serve snacks at sunset. From there, through Austria and Switzerland, it reaches the City of Lovers – Paris.

Trip plan:

1 Istanbul

We invite guests aboard the shining blue and gold carriages of the Venice Simplon Orient-Express train, which sets off from Istanbul for the first leg of the journey. Dinner is an exquisite event, prepared on board by talented chefs, served in one of three beautifully restored dining cars. Before guests retire to their compartments, they can relax in the bar car, listening to our pianist gently playing the piano.

2 Bucharest

The next morning, guests are served a continental breakfast in their compartments as the train glides through Bulgaria and into Romania. Passengers can enjoy the beautiful views before being served a delicious brunch. Soon after, we arrive in Bucharest, where guests leave the train and explore the city in a luxury coach accompanied by a guide. Guests will see, among others, one of the largest buildings in the world - Palatul Parliamentului. The Palace of Parliament is the largest administrative building in the world, and weighing nearly 4,1 million kg, it is the heaviest building in the world. Finally, they arrive at the Athenée Palace Hilton hotel for the night. Dinner will be served in a private restaurant.

3 Bucharest – Budapest

In the morning, guests join the train and enjoy a fantastic brunch as the train heads towards the mountain town of Sinaia and its Peles Castle, the summer residence of the Kings of Romania. This magnificent castle, at the special invitation of King Charles I, was visited by guests of the inaugural voyage of the Orient Express in October 1883.

The building, built between 1873 and 1883, was the summer residence of the kings of Romania. Construction began on the orders of Charles I. The design was prepared by the German architect Wilhelm Doderer, and from 1876 the construction was managed by the architect Johannes Schultz. Until the last days of his life, Charles I improved and beautified his residence. The mechanical devices for the castle were made by a Polish inventor from Lviv, Franciszek Rychnowski, who received the Serviciu Credinciosu gold medal of merit, 1947st class, from the king. In XNUMX, Peleş Palace became the property of the state treasury.

After visiting the palace, in the late afternoon, guests return to the train for a relaxing journey to Hungary. In the evening, we invite passengers to a wonderful dinner - they will spend the night in their luxurious compartments.

4 Budapest

Upon arrival in Budapest, guides will show guests the most important monuments of the city. We then invite guests on a cruise along the Danube, which offers stunning views of the city. The cruise ends after lunch. In the evening, we will take guests to a private, exclusive restaurant for a typical Hungarian dinner. VSOP passengers will spend this night in one of two hotels in Budapest - the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace overlooking the Danube, or the classically elegant The Ritz-Carlton.

5 Budapest – Paris

As the train moves towards Lake Balaton, lunch is served in the dining cars. Through the windows you can admire the forests and vineyards of the Transdanubian region. Later in the day we will stop to invite guests for sunset snacks on the shores of this huge lake. Finally, once back on board, your last dinner of the trip will be served. Passengers will spend the night in their luxurious compartments.

6 Paris

Guests eat breakfast in the compartments, while the landscapes of Germany and then France pass by outside the windows. Before arriving in Paris, we will invite passengers to a delicious farewell dinner. Finally, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express luxury train arrives in Paris, completing an exclusive and fascinating journey.
