Rovos Rail – The pride of Africa

Take a magical journey on the most luxurious train in the world - "Pride of Africa". Discover the most beautiful places in Southern and Central Africa, while enjoying the nostalgic atmosphere of the romance of the 1920s.

The exquisitely restored carriages of the two classic trains consist of 2 Royal Suites, 23 Deluxe Suites and 9 Pullman Suites, which can accommodate up to 72 passengers. The interiors of the carriages are lined with elegant, dark wood. Although they are kept in a Victorian style, they offer passengers all the modern amenities.

We offer both 2-day, multi-day and 2-week trips. The longest of the trips leads from Cape Town in South Africa through Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia to Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania. The travel program is varied, and guests have the opportunity to spend the night not only on the train, but also in resorts in the reserves and in hotels on a given route. Depending on which one you choose, you will be able to admire the most diverse landscapes of Africa: the desert of Namibia and the wildlife of the Kruger Park, the lush vegetation of the KwaZulu Natal province and the picturesque vineyards of the South Coast.

Types of cabins (all equipped with, among others, a bathroom, toiletries, a table and individually adjustable air conditioning):

• max. 2 Royal apartments, approximately 16 m²;
• max. 23 Deluxe compartments, area approx. 10 m²;
• max. 9 Pullman compartments, approximately 7 m² in size;
