Paris

This trip is organized only once a year and combines a trip on the luxurious Venice Simplon-Orient Express train with a stay in elegant hotels in Budapest and Bucharest. Orient Express takes passengers not only on a romantic journey in space - from the capital of France to colorful Istanbul - but also in time: to the times when a train journey was a completely different experience, aristocratic, cultural - simply the journey of a lifetime. Our guests will travel through seven countries in unrivaled style. They will be accompanied by extraordinary service, delicious meals and wines, perfectly planned sightseeing and a unique atmosphere.

At every stop you can feel palpable emotions as VSOE glides through France, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria to Turkey. The most authentic of luxury trains in the world, VSOE is incredibly real, from the coal-heated sleeping cars, through the windows that can be opened to feel the breeze and the smell of the forest, through delicious meals to late-evening drinks.

Trip plan:

1 Paris

We invite guests to board the train in Paris, where the journey through Europe begins. After settling into your compartments and having afternoon tea, dinner will be served. After leaving Paris, the train travels through southern Germany and Austria towards Budapest.

2 Budapest

Before guests arrive in Budapest for the night, they will be served a gourmet dinner on the train. In the evening, we invite you to a cocktail reception, during which guests can meet their fellow passengers. After arriving in the capital of Hungary, there is free time, which Luxury Travel guests can spend in any way they wish. Dinner and overnight stay in one of two 5-star hotels in Budapest - the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace overlooking the Danube, or the classically elegant The Ritz-Carlton.

3 Budapest

In the morning, after breakfast, we invite travelers to explore the city under the care of an excellent guide. Guests will visit the Parliament, Castle Hill and the Royal Castle, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Then they will go to Heroes' Square. The most important object here is the Millennium Monument. Guests will also visit the Great Market Hall dating back to the early 1881th century. A visit to the largest geothermal thermal baths in Europe, Széchenyi gyógyfürdő from XNUMX, is an opportunity to relax in the therapeutic pools. Guests can also visit the National Gallery.

In the late afternoon, passengers return to the luxury VSOE train to continue their journey. As the train heads towards Bucharest, a delicious hot dinner will be served.

4 Sinaia – Bucharest

After breakfast served in the compartments, the luxury VSOE train will stop in Sinaia, where guests will have the opportunity to visit the residence of King Charles I of Romania - Peleş Palace. In this way, they will not only follow in the footsteps of His Majesty, but also in the footsteps of tradition - because here, in 1883, during its inaugural journey, the Orient Express stopped.

The building, built between 1873 and 1883, was the summer residence of the kings of Romania. Construction began on the orders of Charles I. After the death of Charles I, the Romanian throne was taken by his nephew Ferdinand I, married to Maria Coburg, who continued the work of beautifying the castle and gardens. The mechanical devices for Charles I's castle were made by a Polish inventor from Lviv, Franciszek Rychnowski, who received the Serviciu Credinciosu medal of merit, 1947st class, from the king. In XNUMX, Michael I of Romania was forced to abdicate, and Peleş Palace became the property of the state treasury.

After visiting the palace, guests return to the train, which soon reaches the Romanian capital. Upon arrival in Bucharest, guests are transferred to the Athenée Palace Hilton Hotel, where a late lunch is served. In the afternoon, we invite you to explore the city. There will be, among other things, the opportunity to see one of the largest buildings in the world - Palatul Parliamentului. After returning from sightseeing, we invite you for dinner.

5 Bucharest – Varna

In the morning, guests return to the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express as it heads south to Bulgaria, crossing the Danube. In the afternoon, we will stop so that passengers can enjoy the charming views of the rural, idyllic surroundings. We will also visit the maritime capital of Bulgaria - Varna, often referred to as the Pearl of the Black Sea. Here there is a monument to the king of Poland and Hungary, Władysław III of Varna. Lunch and dinner are served in the dining cars during the journey. Passengers will spend this night, the last on the way from Paris to Istanbul, in their luxurious compartments.

6 Istanbul

Early in the morning, the train enters Turkey and crosses the beautiful Upper Thracian Plain. After breakfast and lunch, the VSOE luxury train arrives in Istanbul, ending the exclusive and fascinating journey with a view of the sparkling Sea of Marmara.
